SpikedCola Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Right now Im using methanol in a jar, with a cotton wick, for an alcohol burner, and it produces a nice orange flame. In chemistry class, we were experimenting with various salts that create different flame colours. Is there anything I can mix with/into the methanol (or some other fuel) to change the flame's colour? Always wanted a vibrant green or red flame
rocket Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Yes you can add salts to methanol to change the flames colour, if you had searched you would have found this thread: http://www.apcforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=947
SpikedCola Posted February 12, 2007 Author Posted February 12, 2007 Wow, thats exactly what I needed. Thanks!
