uncrichie Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Just finished drilling the block that holds the time fuse. Last part is to make the punch tool. For those of you who have gone through this which is better a pointed tip or flat squared off tip. My thoughts are that the hole made by the pointed tip is going to slightly close off after removal? The squared off tip should punch a hole clear through and remove enough material that the hole shouldn't close off any? I think the squared off tip would be better? Whats recommended? Thanks, Kurt
Xtreme Pyro Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Use a flat ended drill blank, makes for a nice clean hole, and they're fairly cheap. I suppose you could use a sharp tip, but it will close up a bit as it doesn't really "punch" a hole.
uncrichie Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 Xtreme Pyro, I have drill rod in the right size. Should it be hardened or is it ok in unhardened state? Kurt
