As both a pyro and a guitarist I have to say that is pretty cool.

Using gunpowder is an unconventional way to obtain the traditional Japanese scorched finish. But if you want to see something really unconventional ...American rock guitarist J. Hendrix used lighter fluid on his guitar for a "finish".

There's always that video of some guy using a "quarter stick" on an Ibanez guitar, but I'm refraining from posting it because I don't want to be labeled as a kewl bombz kid.
