jaysgoh Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Need help. I overlook the feti list on one of the golden brocade composition. I had 300 g now without Fe/Ti chemical. The problem is I don't have them. My current formulaKno3 116Charcoal 140Sulfur 24Dex 20Can I add 20%of aluminium powder inside? What will it look like and how to name it on the container?
Ferret Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Aluminum powder will produce a more silvery brocade effect. It will work, but it will not be the bright gold color that FeTi would make. Iron burns very orange, which is what makes FeTi a bright gold. Aluminum, titanium, magnesium, and mgal burn silvery-white.
jaysgoh Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Thanks, I have add 20% aluminium inside. Waiting for dry, my be after two days.. Just curious that My lighter has higher temp than shells that explode in the shells? Cause it need quite high temperature to ignite the stars.. I need to use blow torch only can light it, just wonder that shells is enough to light my shells or not.
jaysgoh Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 It really need a long long time to make it burn.. What a waste of 300g stars
Mumbles Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 You really should just give up on this hobby. You've shown countless times that you're impatient, impulsive, and rarely take the time to ever research anything on your own. Keeping up these bad habits will get you hurt and lead to you wasting chemicals and time without any hope of ever advancing or becoming better.
jaysgoh Posted May 1, 2014 Author Posted May 1, 2014 Yes, I know that. I've been thinking about that too recently. But I try to change my self and read more books I can .I seems not read a lot of reference books as you guys did. But it takes time to finish stack of books or tons of pdf file. I'm sorry if I'm wasting your time on reading, replying my post. But, before I quit this awesome hobby, my goal is made a successful d1 glitter shell. At least let me reach my goal. Thanks for the time reading my post.
Mumbles Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Then take the time to read. It's really not that hard. It'll give you time to actually learn what you're doing, and find appropriate suppliers as well.
