Hello,

I've been away from this forum for long time as i building my ball mill .

Finally i have build my ball mill with two long rods and 4 bearings . Unfortunately , I still can't get a suitable motor for my ball mill .

It able to mill my chemicals almost to powder , guess it works . i using Non Magnectic Steel balls . I cant get any lead from here yet , still hunting for it . For that case , i have to mill it seperately so that it does not ignite the live composition .

*5/5(Thump,Best BP ) , *4/5 ( Normal BP ) , *3/5(Better than dry mix ) , *2/5(Dry Coarse Mix ) . *1/5 ( Sand )

The First Batch of my black powder (100g)

75g KNO3

15g Willow Charcoal Stick

10g Sulphur

Review

Speed : *4/5 ( Normal Speed , no thump )

Ashes : Grey Black colour , no solids .

Ball Mill Time ( By hand ) : 3 Hours

The Second Batch of my black powder (200g)

150g KNO3

30g Unknown Airfloat Charcoal

20g Sulphur

Review

Speed: *3/5 ( burn nicely but not fast and still long way to go if compare to Speed *4/5)

Ashes : White Solids , it looks like KNO3 , what do you guys think ?

Ball Mill Time ( by hand ) : Approx 6Hours

In that case , i am able to get supplie with dirt cheap charcoal .

Unknown Wood Airfloat Charcoal

Pine Airfloat Charcoal

Cedar Airfloat Charcoal

Willow Airfloat Charcoal

Poplar Airfloat Charcoal

Which you guys think the charcoal is the best for bp in order to make it thump ?

I dont think so my unknown wood airfloat charcoal are good for bp , maybe i use it for stars .

The prob is the bp needs to be milled together to get a intimate mixture ., You need to source a spark free media for this . Lead is the cheapest , followed by ceramic. Your will never get "thumping " bp with out milling it.

WIllow and pine seem to be the best charcoals for your bp. The pine can be used for spark formation as well , so it is a 2-for-1.

I usually ball mill them separately and then take out the media and make it mix together. I known it's not sufficient but I do sift them and grind it with mortar and pestle too. It's lot of works, I have bought 1kg of 1cm lead balls. It should by here by June.

I added into cart

Willow - 7 kilograms

Pine 3 kilo.

It enough to for my life I guess

How big is your milling jar? In my small mill which uses the 3lb jars from the Harbor Freight Tumbler, I use 5 lbs (2.3kg) of .40 cal lead balls (a little bigger than 1 cm). Are you sure you ordred enough lead?

I don't know how big but I can only put 450+-g of meal powder inside without media. I usually mill 200g and with media it's already more than hslf

Never mind.. It's better more than less, I will add on another kilo of lead as China guy don't sell lesser than kilo of lead ball.

My second batch of 200g I made earlier. I add 4 teaspoon of unknown wood charcoal inside and half teaspoon of atomised al.

It burn faster than before and it don't have the bright al.

Is my charcoal need to be add more to slow down the composition? I plan to use it for stars.

I'm confused now. Maybe some symptoms of old age are creepin in a lil early. Whatever it is, it's refreshing to see sometimes that when you think you may be loosing your last few marbles to old memories of drink and play, something happens beyond understanding and you realize that all is not lost.

Trying to make a chevette perform like a corvette is a dead horse. Unless turning isn't your style. And speaking of turning, and a consistent recipe, with NO unknown extras thrown in, or other experiments of such, ball millin with lead only, no steel, for a cohesive and well introduced set of chems and sticks, may get you thumpy good times.

At a distance, and with a long connective device like a 100 ft 10/3 conductor extensive extensionating extension chord with that millin machine at the far end away from anyone and anything you happen to like while milling that BP comp for a couple of hours ya dig? And not graves, just the plan my man.

Then when the need for stars happens, your set, now just use the recipes that you may have been directed to at your own risk. By the time you add dextrin and wet and roll or pump that comp the stars will burn slower than loose comp anyway. And no goofin around with this stuff, it takes getting bit just once like a Philippine cobra.

Oh, almost forgot, I got a couple girlfriends out back named Pauline and Empress that say they are the fastest. I don't argue with them :)
