skid68 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Testing the lifting capability of a coarse charcoal fuel from Kurt M. A bit too heavy. Higher would be nice.
skid68 Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 (edited) What was the crackle sound from? Those were some rolled stars I made last year. I rolled them on dragon eggs. I had a mish mash of stars in a tub that I used. I think they were:Hardts BrocadeN1 or Gold GlitterBleser White Strobeand a few Veline Magenta you can just see as it breaks Edited April 6, 2014 by skid68
Respirator Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 That is quite a nice rocket, and a good combination of stars too.
Peret Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 It was a slow takeoff - it burned for half a second on the ground, with a big waste of fuel. Next time, try running a piece of bare black match from the nozzle to the top. This will flash the fire instantly and ignite the whole surface. You should see a dramatic difference in the takeoff speed, and it will go much higher.
