VikingPyrotechnics Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Yesterday I fired a 3 "cylinder shell with independence red and win39 crossettes. With the timing I am quite satisfied. 5 of 6 ignited almost simultaneously. One danced a little out of line. BUT, how they broke was bad. Unusually, I have the Crossettes this time with 2 layers of 70 # virgin kraft paper pasted. Normally I take for this 30 # paper. And I've used other aluminum (German dark). So I got about 0.8 g of flash in the cavity. Usually I take for this 000 aluminum. So I get only 0.5 to 0.6 grams in the cavity. So, German dark and 70# paper was too much. And, I have bought from another dealer new 325 mesh aluminum. The rising tail was with my old aluminum and Crossettes with the new. You can clearly see the difference. The old one have a very long tail. The new rather short and bushy..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJJ1Ea9GNgc
Wiley Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Yet another fine creation! Honestly I thought the break on the crossettes looked nice, though they were more of a "split comet" effect in this case. Beautiful work.
leedrill Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 the crossettes definitely broke too hard can see some broken fragments { your previous crossettes are perfect } but damn the timing on this was so good you are really getting some of the harder things so dialled in and wow a very obvious difference in the 2 aluminium's as always keep up the good work you shells are an inspiration to me and others can i ask what crosset pump you are using even if it is just a wolter one ect ect id love to see a photo of the one you have been playing with
VikingPyrotechnics Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 Thank you guys i use the pumps from Wolter, Lee. I got a 3/4" and a 1" pump.... http://www7.pic-upload.de/thumb/23.03.14/2lk4rp17o1dl.jpg http://www7.pic-upload.de/thumb/23.03.14/f4aii2hll7tt.jpg
