Newbergpyro Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Hello Everyone, I was wondering if you could get the type of sulfur you use for BP at your local wal-mart or hardware store. Any help would be appreciated thank you.
Mumbles Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 You can't get the type I use at the hardware store, but there are sulfurs available at some hardware stores. Generally it will be dusting or wetable sulfur. Both are acceptable. 10% clay is a common additive, but it doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference.
moonshot Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I found my sulfur at a hydroponic supply store. It was in the form of prills which are little half spheres of pressed sulfur. They are very hard so you have to ball mill or grind them with a mortar and pestle. The box said they were 99.9% pure sulfur. It seems to work fine in the BP I make. Anyway if you have a local hydroponics shop check it out. The one I go to also sells KNO3 for a dollar a pound. Good luck and keep looking.
