jaysgoh Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Chinese new year coming soon! I got a small stash due to the legality and budget problem. I manage to get 6x 1.9inch peanut ball shell 10x 2 inch rocket 1 box of dragon eggs 1 box of cherry boom. Homemade shells These thing cost me approx usd300 The artillery shells come with cardboard tubes, it's just 3mm thick and it does not have a good circle shape. Is that okay? What do I need to expect from the peanut shell? Double burst? I'm so excited! There are one ball lift charge spill out. That's nor my fault. It's factory quality.. What should I do? Add my own lift charge? Thanks

FlaMtnBkr Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 I would have never thought fireworks would be expensive and hard to get in China. Are you sure its not because you are young and trying to buy them? Maybe you would do better if your parents bought them for you? That would probably cost $100 retail in US. If you know someone just a fraction of that. And that's after it traveled half way around world and 3 people have made money on it as well as the US and China government.
jaysgoh Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) i'm not at China , Somewhere in MA-LAY-SlAMy country is illegal for fireworks no matter you make them or buy them or import them or letting go them .We can get some commercial from supplier , i dont know how they get it from China or Thailand , they resell to us like 4x expensive than the cost pricein that case , thats why i am here , build my self can gain more knowledge and save money .Does anyone what course related to Fireworks and Pyrotechnic ? is it possible to become pyrotechnician in a firework banned country? FlaMtnBkr Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Ok, that helps explain it. I have read you refer to China before and thought that is where you are located. If fireworks are illegal you just have to decide if the legal consequences are worth it to you. There are some simple types of fireworks that you can probably make if you try. Potassium nitrate would be the main chemical. With it you can make BP, charcoal stars, rockets, and many devices that use BP and stars. But you have to have some basic tools and some creativity. I would think the chemicals to make colors and more advanced effects would be too hard to get and not worth the hassle when so much can be done with KNO3, sulfur, charcoal, paper, glue, string, and some wood. The things that can be made with that list should be able to keep you busy and happy for years.
