Sparx88 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) For those who use these, and have not replaced the clear tubing on the drive shaft and have occasional slippery slidey situations...now I know this is probably maybe a no brainer for some, but get you some sand paper. Any grit you got, and sand that little devil until the shine is gone and you have high traction. Works also for the dual/replacement higher speed type too. Either polyethylene or pvc-vinyl tubing. Just remove the shine. I also tried some methylene chloride on both types and it works real good for taking away the slips. Has a "tack" without sticking or residue. A little applicator bottle and wet the tubing liberally. When dry which is in seconds it's good. Course I could'nt leave it alone and sanded it anyway. All in all, this fixes the slips. MWJ Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks! I just ordered a duel mill because of that, it slips. I'll have to try it on the old one. Thanks for the tip Sparx
Bobosan Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Might want to check this article out for "souping up" your old or new mill. http://www.skylighter.com/fireworks/how-to/ball-mill.asp There are several threads here on APC describing upgrades and fixes too.
schroedinger Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Also you have one driven axis and one rotating. Lift up the rotating side and the driven side will go a little more under the barrel, also saving one the needed power and giving youmore traction
