Shizznt Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) Nice rockets Dan. That 4" header would have been perfect if it had gotten a little higher. Good job. Edited January 8, 2014 by Shizznt
dan999ification Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Another half second and it was coming down. Yeah that shell took some time, perfectly rolled and sized stars ( individually) from coreless cores.I'd been taking notes from fredhappy's brocades, but my break was not powerfull enough for the star size, too much dropping/falling ribbons. Smaller stars or tweak the charge, it would have been better with 9mm's even 8mm without the cores. The slowest burning comp I've made I'm suprised it stays lit It was also way too heavy for the motors, I made a schoolboy mistake and cut corners by milling double the usual charge sacrificing some power judging by the fire dust tail and spark size. I expected/wanted a low break and beautiful it was being close but lessons learned.I'm in no doubt that these motors can lift a 4" with this fuel, just need some more milling and to cut the shell weight to 300g... A lot less pasting 50/50 burst to carrier (bp) and some boosting, Cheaper and quicker a 4"tt easy. These were My first stars rolled by machine and turned out a lot heavier than I expected, the break was also somewhat underestimated. At least the fuse timing is getting better. The shots on the italian shell went at once, I thought they blew blind Dan. Edit: I don't half ramble on at times Edited January 9, 2014 by dan999ification
