Shadowcat1969
You can buy additional cups and blades for the magic bullet cheaper than a coffe grinder. About $8 for 2 cups (one tall, one short) and 2 cross blades. You can also get replacement gaskets cheap, if needed. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bullet-Short-Original-Replacement/dp/B00BKTFN4S/ref=pd_sim_k_1 http://www.amazon.com/Blades-compatible-Magic-Bullet-Blender/dp/B002YFB1D4/ref=pd_sim_k_4 This way you can dedicate a single cup and single blade to whichever chemical you wish. I haven't had any of the blade units leak on me yet, processing powders (pyro) or liquids (kitchen). Not to say that it can't/won't happen. I've also not had any problem with putting the blades in the dishwasher (on the top shelf and without "sanitize", I don't want them to get too hot). I bought mine primarily for kitchen use, I don't process small quantities of chems very often. I also have one of the harbor freight 6lb (2 jar) mills, and I made dedicated chemical jars using 3" PVC fittings. I only use the bullet if I run out of something, but usually I plan ahead enough to run a larger quantity through the mill when I get low on anything in powdered form. I did get one extra blade and one extra jar with the majic bullet and they are unused. The extra blade is different than the one I have in use. I don't remember what it's for. MrB
The extra blade is different than the one I have in use. I don't remember what it's for. Not having seen it, it's probably one blade for chopping "soft" stuff, like fruit smoothies, and one blade for crushing ice, useful when trying to introduce a brain freeze... Or breaking up larger particles, before turning them over to the knife.B!
Shadowcat1969
They actually have 3 blade types, one has a "flat" blade that is similar to a coffee grinder. One is the standard blending blade for smoothies and such. One is a lot like the blending blade, but the upturned blades are longer and this one is for crushing ice.
