psyco_1322 Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 A little something I put together yesterday to shoot for the occasion. Only Christmas colors I had on hand were some small green, so I made some inserts with them and white strobe (which you can't much see). A bit loose in the gun surprisingly. Includes decorative wrap! http://imgur.com/R3ik9z0 Video: http://youtu.be/eEN-MPz_l64

mathiasxx94 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Really nice shell, and epic colors! Do you mind sharing the formulas or names of the purple and green comps? Merry christmas
leedrill Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 indeed beautiful shell well done man pity about the lift the first break looked perfect but could of been moving a bit faster obviously but gotta love when you pause it and see the bottom shot actually didnt seem to touch the ground it really looks like it would be about 6" of the ground haha really cool
Wiley Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 That was an absolutely amazing shell! I don't see why people would want to build those silly round shells after seeing what you can do with multibreak cylinders.
dan999ification Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Wow, stutata style.Im Feeling under gunned Dan.
psyco_1322 Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Yeah I was kind of trying to get that stuata look with the star inserts. I think in the future when I build one, the first break will be broke lightly, becasue those inserts sure spread out quite a bit.
burningRNX Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Nice shell, I like those inserts, very suprisingly effect, how did you close the tubes?
psyco_1322 Posted December 28, 2013 Author Posted December 28, 2013 I liked that the first breaks purple burnt out just before the green went off, made for a nice color transition. I just glue the thin paper plugs into the tubes, then fill in the out side cavity with hot glue to make a solid plug. The fuse can be run through the side of the tube, or through one of the end plugs. These were through the end plug, since there is not room in the center of the shell for side fusing. Also there was no priming done to either ends of the time fuse, just top hatted black match on the outside. The green is just Emerald Green. The purple is a carbonate purple with a bit of MgAl to brighten it up.
dan999ification Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Thanks for the build info the timing is good Nice to know you are having success without priming the fuse aswell, did you roughen the ends up? What is the core like?I've not tried with thin (3mm) core yet. Dan.
psyco_1322 Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 What size were the inserts? The colored ones where 1" ID tubes, the reports were 3/4" ID tubes.
WonderBoy Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Nice shell P! I really liked the "crown" effect of the 1st break. How did you attach the lift? Tissue paper pouch and dry wrap over top? The festive paper was a nice touch WB
psyco_1322 Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Lift was attached "tissue paper and tape style".
