Mumbles
To be honest, it looks like a sloppily thrown together, unsafe piece of shit. Fire that thing FAR away from people and property. After that, leave flash alone until you can build something halfway decently.
ollie1016
Hello guys, judge and comment the making of my second battery homemade !Comp : FP 64/23/13 Potassium perchlorate /Aluminium(Dark)/Sulfure + TiIf i remember , the time fuse for the bomb is approximately 2cmIt's for the NY stock.Have great holidays Please don't take any of the following offensively. Is this your first one? For something to work well it doesn't nessicarly have to look good. But looking semi professional might help. It's good to see that you are re-using tubes. Did you check the plugs, and integrity of the tubes before you built your 'item'? It does look kind of amatuer, but that's what we are! Please do a video of it, put a nice long fuse on it! What I do with my homemade cakes is, put a stake in the ground, then tape the cake to the stake to keep it upright, just incase it falls over. Merry Christmas! pyrojig
All looks workable and resourceful reusing old cake tubes. Usually they can be shot with for several inserts before showing signs of wear.* What I see being "shaky" is the inserts themselves . They seem like they will most likely flowepot and blow the tubes apart ......Lit and shooting in all directions . As said do this one remotely at least a few hundred feet from anyone. The use of corrugated cardboard as a base or plug is asking for a failure . It needs to be multi layers of thick cardboard or a thick chipboard base. Spiking and or other support for the tube would be a good idea. Just ask your self " what if?" if it goes wrong, are you in a safe area and safe distance from the device?. Zmuro
These salutes will go inside the launch tubes, because you didn't reinforce them enough. Take them out and paste them with three turns of craft paper and paste another disc at the bottom of each salute. You should also cross-match the time fuse. asdercks
I don't know what to tell you about your cake, other then it doesn't looks safe at all, when I made my first cake, I did use new tubes for the mortar and inserts,I used charcoal based stars for the inserts and of course it took me a while before I even started working with flash (your's a really strong composition) in my 4 years of being in this hobby the only flash with sulfur I've worked with is a kno3 based one.I honestly wouldn't try to light those things, kclo4,sulfur and titanium wow! be carefull

asdercks
Thank you ! Just i must make better insert (most closed)Next time use thicker tubes the plugs doesn't have to be that thick, when I make salutes for inserts I use a thin cheap cardboard plug glued to the tubes and I still get loud bangs, but honestly I would focus on making stars and some effects for the inserts you'll find out that cakes are more fun with lights and noise than just big bangs, also try to buy new tubes as they are more safe to use than used
psyco_1322
Well I'll be damned.... Though I think the last shot blew in the tube, and launched an end disk with fuse burning. It's interesting you can actually hear the fuses burning, and hear the inserts spinning. Why did some of them have just a little poof, and no boom? I'd guess it was a crappy/slow flash and some just did not confine enough. That would explain how the last one blew in the tube and did not make a boom. CannonBall
My very first pyro composition was in fact flash, but that's my recipe and here where i live stuff like KClO3/4 is not that easy to get at all, so i kept perfectioning my kno3/al/s flash, and you know what? 0.2 grams of it is enough to shred a beer can to pieces! Good luck with your cakes man, keep it up!

Mumbles
Yes, Some insert have just poof because the plug is very bad and just glued no envelopping, why it's interesting to hear the fuses burning, and hear the inserts spinning ? Exactly, the comp hasn't problem, the problem is the plug The inserts went poof because the inserts were built like shit, and you very likely used bad flash. Any decent flash in these quantities will salute inside of a tissue.
