LambentPyro Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) is uncoated al dangerous if im making simple comps for things such as d1 glitter starsI never experienced an issue with it, I believe uncoated Al has a better effect but a smaller lifetime and will not look as satisfying after a year as when you first made them. If I am not mistaken, the coating is a byproduct of manufacturing it, so it does not combust when opened after milling it because it can be pyrophoric. I may be wrong about that though. I purchased uncoated 225 Mesh Atomized, 425 Mesh Atomized, and 1625 Mesh Atomized. I also have 200-325 Mesh Flake Al that did not work so well for me, but was because I did not make the stars correctly. I also have Alcoa 120 Al, which I haven't tried yet as I recently purchased it, but I am looking forward to using it. For the others, they all work phenomenal and as long as you coat with Boric Acid dissolved in your solvent, you should be fine. Edited December 16, 2013 by LambentPyro
