TYRONEEZEKIEL
Over the past 2 weeks since I've been home from college, I have clocked in 23 4" shells and I'm gonna build a 30-40 shot cake I believe. Maybe a salute or 2. Edited December 30, 2013 by TYRONEEZEKIEL
LambentPyro
Not too much quantity this year, but I have at least finished a 8" ball shell which I am looking forward too. Some pictures from the building: http://i.imgur.com/JxzLwAE.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/f6C4Go1.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/5tucFhF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Sd5evlQ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/3sbSZBx.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/3EaxZ6C.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/ez2aeuz.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/HmlEPip.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/V7uZloN.jpg Wow! Such clean and refined craftsmanship, well done!! Please post a video here after you light this, I'd be happy to see it. Tell me about not being able to shoot, I live in the city and december is pretty much the only month of the year when I can shoot a little without getting in troble with the police, the problem is that I don't have that much time to fine/tune my shells so Im just hoping that whatever I shoot works well, thats why I keep reading and asking questions in this site lol. hope your shells do great Are there any clubs you can join? Thanks, but now I may just do one 4", I really do not want to jeopardize anything as I am sure the average 'Joe' can notice a difference in the size of a 4" shell when compared a simple consumer shell. My neighbors are always looking out the window to see what I'm doing. For instance, last night I was emptying my one gallon jar ball mill outside for the first time. When 30 LBS. of media are pouring out of a plastic/fiberglass jar, you know noise is out of the question. I took a sample of my Meal and just did a small burn test on the ground. What do I notice right afterwards? Two of my neighbors staring at me from their windows because they saw flash and smoke coming from my backyard. I can only imagine what thoughts are going through their ignorant minds of theirs. When I was in Florida for the Summer, did I have that? Nope... three people next to our house are police officers and one is a sheriff, not one of them said anything. The one actually came over with his friend on a golf cart and showed me how to photograph my shells, he was fascinated by how I build fireworks at my age. California, you can't even somoke on the beach, laws are tight here. I actually do my shooting in tijuana,at a friends house.I hate when ignorant people sees us pyro enthusiats as some sort of terrorists, there's been people whom have asked me if i can make stuff go boom for them, and I'm like, are you f...ing kidding me!. why can't they just appreciate the beauty of our hobby. It'd be better off if ignorance is bliss to society regarding this hobby. All of us pyros face that problem, and there's really nothing you can do then just to keep it away from other's minds. That way when they hear a loud bang of some sort, they don't pop our name into their minds and begin the point the finger at us first. Then the opposing side of the argument could be if you don't make yourself sociable about pursuing the hobby, then people begin to get suspicious. First starting at the parcel delivery service, where the return address displays keywords such as 'Pyro,' or 'Firework.' It's a difficult, yet unfortuanate risk that we must be willing to take in order to continue the hobby in the condition of society today. asdercks
Not bad for 2" and 2.5" shells, next time I'll pay more attention to the timing as I didn't have much time to properly fuse the cake, overall I think the shells broke fairly simetrical, what do you think? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEj9e3ErCr8&list=PLD00D43588886F8CC&index=7 also here's another vid of a 20 shot cake, inserts were not breaking at their apoge because the time fuse was kinda long, but with all the color and bangs they looked pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwJ_3b5Y2B8 Edited January 1, 2014 by asdercks
