How to make my self free from static charge?

I don't want gain any static charge while making my pyrotechnics composition. Is there any way to clear my static charge before I make my pyrotechnics mixture? Is fabric softener same as soften liquid that for washing cloth?

How to store shock and impact sensitive composition? ? In a zip lock bag? Or glass jar? PET container? Tupperware?

I would like to ask before I try to mix any composition. Hope you guys understand that better safer than sorry.

Thank you

You can get anti static spray to make it safer when making compositions.

I don't know about the soften liquid because I have never heard of it before.

The only sensitive composition I have stored was whistle mix and I stored it in a plastic container. If it is black powder or star composition, you can put it in any container. I wouldn't suggest storing flash powder, if thats what you want to store, you should just make enough for what you need it for, so you won't have it lying around. Flash powder is really dangerous so you shouldn't store it.

I think the real question is why are you trying to store shock and impact sensitive compositions? You really should consider giving up this hobby until you can read and learn enough to practice it safely. The questions you ask and the things you say make it incredibly clear you're not ready to be dealing with any live compositions. You really are a danger to yourself and the people around you.

May be static at BP strew? What mass BP safe?

Posted

I don't think BP self confines until around 500 lbs but i wouldn't be putting that to the test! Old link found- http://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/topic/3544-critical-mass/

I myself have put a 10,000 volt spark through BP with no ignition (scientific test), this does not go to say that it may never ignite under these conditions as particle size, humidity and chemicals used are all contributing factors.

As for what mass is "safe" that has to do with the environment that you will be making it and using it in. There is no answer to this question.

I read some post at safety section regarding the bp explode due to shock. I was worried about mine bp too. Thanks for the answer guys

It can under special circumstances explode by experiencing shock. One example of this is a BP rocket motor blowing up when being struck by rawhide mallet whilst ramming said rocket motor.

The maker used the wrong spindle and or ramming tool and compressed the powder between the spindle top and the mallet. Injury did occur.

Here is a link you may find interesting. I do not endorse using or making any of the recipes it contains. http://www.powerlabs.org/chemlabs/deflagrants.htm
