renaxi Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 The only oxidizer i have in stock and can own legally is kno3 here in Denmark. So what recipe is best for a beginner to start with?
Mortartube Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Tiger Tail is good 44% Kno3, 44% Charcoal, 7% Sulphur and 5% Dextrin. You can also make them into pillbox tars. Leave them for a couple of weeks to dry at room temperature. High charcoal content stars take longer to dry. Let them dry naturally, do not force dry them.
renaxi Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Thanks mortartube. Gonna try to make some this weekend.
Shizznt Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Chrysanthemum 6 is good as well, since you don't need to prime them plus it is easy to work with. They burn out pretty fast though. Potassium nitrate- 55%Airfloat charcoal-33%Sulfur-7%Dextrin- 5% Also Lambentpyro put up a great tutorial on making stars. http://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/topic/9031-firework-stars/ Hope that helps. -Ryan

LambentPyro Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I include everything you are looking for in my series, what chemicals to use, and the beginner friendly process of how to make stars. I include how to roll them, pump them, I am making the cut stars video right now, drying stars, how to prime them to ensure ignition when breaking out of a shell or blasting from a mine. Check out my channel in the description to get watching.
Mortartube Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 I meant to add. Use a sieve to get consistent results.
