Balsa Meal Powder Test

It will say so on the bag if you buy in bulk, or you should be able to ask the supplier. From what I can tell greenhouse grade and hydroponic grade are essentially synonyms if you ever come across that. It's a purer form that is designed to be totally soluble so that it doesn't clog hydroponic equipment.

I am sure Haifa does include additives in the Hydroponic Grade that are totally soluble as well.

are you implying that hydroponic grade isnt good for BP?

I am only saying that I am sure hydroponic does include additives just as well, because as KNO3 without any at all would not be as much of a benefactor to the speed of plant growth compared to how Haifa advertises it on their website. They say that all of their fertilizer grows plants much faster than ordinary Nitrate fertilizer because of the Phosphate and other additives in their product.

This proves that there must be something in there that is changing the purity of the chemical. Does it have an effect of the quality of BP? Well, I do not have a chemical analysis of either grade (gg or hg) showing the exact percentage of the content it is made up of. If you can provide me with one, I will be convinced that Haifa KNO3 is a good product for BP; and any additives or impurities that are in it, have very, very little, or no effect on the quality of BP compared to KNO3 analyzed as 99% or even lab grade.

I doubt there is phosphate in their fertilizer and you are just reading a sales pitch. Fertilizer is measured by N-P-K or Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium. Phosphate is added to some fertilizers for the phosphorus content. Haifa GG is listed as 13.5-0-46.2 so there is no phosphorus, hence no phosphate.

Maybe other types of fertilizer contains phosphate but if the KNO3 did it would be claimed on the label (probably a legal requirement, but would be added as a selling point if not). Farmers need to know what they are feeding to their plans because some plants need some things and little of others. If their soil analysis shows a correct level of phosphorus for what they are growing then they don't want to add more.

Also, afaik, Haifa makes some potassium nitrate that's intended purpose is in chemical application, which is what I use.

Unless you wanna spend 60-100 per pound for lab grade shi* Haifa or similar branded stuff is the best you can get.

Was not sure if it was a franchise. I've never seen it anywhere else.

When I took it out, it was all stuck to the bottom of the jar. There were indentations of the media on the powder actually. It looked like a mould for making media.

i get the same thing when i make it

More so with hydroponics as theres no soil providing any background nutrients.
