psyco_1322 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Those would be the leader rings and fuse re-enforcing pieces. Just accesories for the shells.
ULTRABUF Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 We finally won a football game. It was so close, we were in the lead by 1 point the whole game until the last minute, then the other team got a touchdown and 2 extra points. We got a touchdown and 2 pointer with like 18 seconds left. It was intense.
kingvitamin Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 It truly is amazing how my creating of a topic way back when could bring so much joy to you today. well anayone remember the show pete and pete< it used to be on nickalodian. it was a classic.
Funnlecake Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Holy crap frogy, I think I got your tubes. I ordered three, 2-1/2 inch tubes but got one of each of what you posted. Well, I got my other two I ordered, I hope you got your stuff. The good thing is we both got free tubes!
frogy Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Thats hilarious man lol... I did get your three 2.5" tubes... He told me who my order went to, but I didn't remember... (He just said John, Matt or something) Ya now I have a 2", three 2.5", and a 3" I accidentally made a HDPE firecracker with my 1.75" tube... Give me yours
hst45 Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 frogy, have you figured out what went wrong with that mortar? I have to tell you, I'm really surprised that such a small diameter tube blew. I can only think of a few things that might even potentially have been at fault; for example: A) Did you have to ram the shell into the tube? B ) Did you load the shell upside down? C) Did the shell not bottom-out in the mortar when you loaded it? and D) Did you perhaps substitute 100 grams of flash for 10 grams of BP? I'm kidding with D), but I gotta tell you, I'm really perplexed. I shoot a shit-load of 2" shell, all through cardboard mortars, and I have some of them that must have had 50 shells through them, and I've never had one blow. I don't have any experience with HDPE but they should be tons stronger then cardboard, so I'd love to know why yours blew.
ULTRABUF Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Yes! I got Halo 3, I probably wont sleep much tonight, Ill be too hyped up on game fuel and victory. I have 6:30 weight room in the morning and football after school but I dont care, I must play!

I have 6:30 weight room in the morning and football after school but I dont care, I must play! Argh. . I hate you just kidding. But you have to tell me how it is. I went to Block Buster to rent it and the computer says that have it but they don't really have it.LOL.
ULTRABUF Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 Well I think its safe to say its amazing. I only played till 1:30 though, according to a friend of mine who already beat it I'm about halfway through the game. You definately need to get it as soon as possible.
mormanman Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 How the piss do you beat Halo 3 that fast?
Tweetybird88 Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I'm a big fan of halo CE and not so much for halo 2 so I'll wait till I can buy halo 3 for $5 on ebay. I don't have very high expectations. People said halo 2 was great, I didn't think so.
ULTRABUF Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 You just play it for hours and hours straight.
Mumbles Posted September 26, 2007 Posted September 26, 2007 I actually had someone offer me a pirated copy of Halo 3 before it came out.

I don't have any experience with HDPE but they should be tons stronger then cardboard, so I'd love to know why yours blew. This isn't aiming to be rude at all... but 100% literal... Do you not understand the concept of m-100 + HDPE A 10 gram flash salute in a 1.75" shell did not get out of the mortar... I have been launching similar salutes that were 3/4" out of a 1" PVC pipe... they were a lot more snug (free falling, but close to filling whole tube) compared to the 1.75" shells which were kind of snug with the quickmatch, but not as big in the pipe... Apparently my lift only works when the gases can't escape around the shell... I was doing some test with 2.5" shells filled to ~50 grams with kitty litter (a real 2.5" is about 70-75 average) to see how much lift I needed... After figuring out how much I needed to lift a 50g 2.5" shell I made a 71.2 gram 2.5" shell with TT stars... and it launched perfectly, but the stars failed to light (it got to the perfect apogee from my standards, but I believe my KP broke the shell before the crispies ignited the stars) The problem is... I had to use 20 grams of lift to lift a 70gram shell... I need to make some White Poplar, Dogwood, Willow, or Balsa charcoal... and I need a powder die, but I don't have shit for money atm...
Pretty green flame Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Got 5 pounds of poplar on the way for 10€, I'm happy
Bonny Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I finally finished grinding and sifting about 2-3 lbs of pine charcoal.Glad that's over...what a mess. Have over 1lb of -100 to airfloat, and the rest was sifted -30 to +100 and 20 mesh for fountains, drivers etc... Really glad I invested in a sifter/shaker machine. No I'm eagerly awaiting 1 lb Ti and some 3/32" visco I've ordered.Stocking up on supplies for the coming (long) winter, which means lots of time to make stuff.
ST1DinOH Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 How the piss do you beat Halo 3 that fast? just run past the all the enemies. i started playing halo 2 a couple days ago on normal, spent 3 hours playing for the last couple nights, and i'm almost to the end already. not to impressed. i had a lot of fun beating halo 1 on legendary, halo 2 doesn't seem to be as difficult. i do like the concept of double weapons but loathe the fact that if i'm holding two guns i can't switch to the other weapon without dropping the 2nd of the doubles. thats rather annoying. also not being able to huck a grenade whiel holding 2 guns gets me killed a lot. also double needlers is just plain sick. i was taking down the big mutants with the charge lazers in one (two) clip(s).
mormanman Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I know personally I was disappointed with Halo 3. I like the guns and stuff but there is something about it that isn't right. I love the molotov cocktails though. I'm pissed that you can't dual weld needlers anymore that blows.
jacob Posted October 6, 2007 Posted October 6, 2007 Woo hoo, i just got a great deal on a rad for my smashed up-but is still good enough to run around my land just needs a new radiator, 1993 escort lx.
flying fish Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I'm very happy about finally getting around to make my own charcoal! I've been using commercial airfloat ever since I got into this hobby 3 or 4 years ago. I have not tested the charcoal yet, but it is just so beautiful and shiney! Of course, I am going to be yelled at tomorrow when the black smudges all over the house are discovered, but this glorious evening is no time to sweat about those minor details! It was made from willow branch, cooked in a paint can over a camp stove. The other thing I love about this process is the camp fire smell. Brings back fond memories. Hey, that reminds me: I should build a fire pit behind my house! My neighbors both have fire pits, so I doubt they will complain.
mormanman Posted October 8, 2007 Posted October 8, 2007 I really did think that you made charcoal before. What kind is it?
flying fish Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 The charcoal I made last night was willow. I am milling some BP from it right now. Tonight I just got done baking some pine! The Willow BP is coming along nicely. At first when I tested it, about an hour after putting it in the mill, it was slower than I expected. But I left it for a couple more hours and now it is faster than my standard BP made with commerical airfloat and 4-5 hours mill time! My coin mill is rather innefficient, so I intend to leave it running for 12 hours or so. Edit: I am taking it off the mill and testing it periodically. Now, after about 6 hours, I would describe it as "bordering on wickedly fast!" This stuff is far better than anything I ever made with commercial airfloat charcoal. I've got to say, after alot of recent dissapointments in my pyrotechnic projects, I'm sure glad I am getting good results with SOMETHING, even if it is as simple as black powder.

Once you granulate it can you make a video or compare to my Pecan to see which one is faster just for the database. Edit: I'm so happy oh my goodness I made my first semi-sucessful rocket. I was a small one inch by 2/8 inch rocket. Well it wasn't a rocket b/c I thought it would become another failure but instead it was a CATO w/o the take off. It was so cool. I made two one with a nozzle (1/8") and one nozzleless. Nontheless it was awsome. Edit(again): I just bought 4 lbs of KCLO4, 3 lbs of KCLO3, and 2 Sodium Benzoate for $45. Along with 2 of 25 micron Al for $16; so a $61 total for my birthday (which is tomorrow).

Slow down, take a breath, and type in slowly and clearly what happened to the rocket.
