romanv Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 hello, ive recently bought some kclo3 and its very clumpy.i want to make small bangers 3g max.can i just mix it with a mixer or isnt that going to work.thanks
taiwanluthiers Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 KClO3 makes a poor choice for bangers anyways. Too sensitive and unpredictable for beginners. Should stay away from that for now... Use KClO3 for color stars or smokes.
mike_au Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Agreed, chlorate flash is generally avoided even by extremely experienced pyros (avoiding dangerous compounds is probably a big part of how they got to be experienced), you're just asking for trouble messing around with it as a beginner. Start with BP.
taiwanluthiers Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 3 grams of flash is pretty hefty for sure... enough to attract the wrong kind of attention.
ollie1016 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'm not trying brag or boast, but my .6g FP firecrackers are very loud. 3g is a fair amount. Stick to perchlorate or nitrates for flash. If your worried about hyporgellic reactions add abit of Boric acid 1%
taiwanluthiers Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 In Taiwan the average crackers (you know like those string of black cats you get at firework stands) are .3 grams. They are loud for sure. Problem with 3 grams is they do sound like gunshots and therefore can attract some attention. I guess it depends if your country has lenient laws on firecrackers. I seen some EU countries that sells 20 gram crackers!
