VikingPyrotechnics Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Hi guys, have now tried a new Traca. And it worked. Unfortunately, I had made the wrong settings on my new mic. So it has taken the Sound level is low. Hope you enjoy it anyway. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoI5zVWHpag Greets VP
Shizznt Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 That was pretty cool. Is a traca just a bunch of salutes hooked up to quickmatch? Keep up the good work. -Ryan
VikingPyrotechnics Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 Yes, just connect with QM.And a hole show with many of this chains is called Mascleta Look for some videos of it on YT In Spain it is a big tradition to light these crazy cracker chains over the heads from hundred of peoples Sorry for my bad english GreetsVP
fredhappy Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 viking: Nicely done...I know you had some issues with the fuse going out on previous tries, so very cool too see it works.. thanks for sharing....fun stuff! best fred
Seymour Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I think the timing was very good. It could be easy to get the quick match to burn through too fast or slowly but irregularly, or does the quickmatch burn fast like normal stuff and the delay is on the individual salutes? I think it could be really cool to have several of these suspended from a tree or similar.
VikingPyrotechnics Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Thanks Seymour, QM burns very quickly. (Comparable to commercial) The delay evolves in the individual salutes. For New Year's Eve I've got something planned. (This was just a small test) Greets VP
marks265 Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 I don't think the timing was that good. It was fast than slow than fast for me. The first 3 or 4 is fastest and most noticeable. Still a fun effect though.
VikingPyrotechnics Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Yes that's right. First I knotted the QM together. Then I have the little salutes knotted to the QM. I think I've pulled the knot too tight. The result was probably the delay ?!
marks265 Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 "Knotting" (folding over) and tied QM is done on finale racks or chains of devices just for the purpose of slowing the chain down as we have witnessed here. And you're right, varied technique will give varied timing. This is a big problem in things like Mascleta.
