I gotta say that these past dozen posts are part of the reason why I am not on Passfire anymore. There is NEVER a good reason for name calling, no matter how "truthful" one is being. Anybody that has lived through a violent event in their life that changed their emotional being (called PTSD now) knows that 'sticks and stones' come in the form of words as well and civility should never be trumped by "calling out" someone.

I know, I am pointing directly at myself and this reply is in no way pointed at anybody in particular but as an overall climate we have been slinking down into.

I'm out of here on this thread, if you reply to this post, please PM me, I will not be back to read the reply here.

I'm going to suggest APC is the best choice.

I re-upped my subscription, I hope you all are right. I love the deep well of knowledge but it looks like a lot of comps are missing?

If anything, Passfire is the least political and personality laden of the 3 main forums. There's a thread on FW I'm avoiding right now due to my aversion to biting my own tongue.

The atmosphere on PF is more like that of a library and I enjoy that. I can almost smell the musty books. Ahhhhhh...

Your PS analogy matches mine Patrick, the archive does contain vast amounts of valuable information and its nice to sit back and read in quiet. That said, when I had a question about big cylinders not long ago, Kyle (and others) where right there to give pointers. I was a member of FW up until a couple weeks ago when my membership expired, might rejoin after the hectic run of summer ends. Didn't get a chance to ask, before leaving, if you managed to get my software up and running. If you have any questions about that shoot me an email..:)

Kyle has been adding a fair amount of tutorials and working on a few more projects of interest on Passfire.

Both Fireworking and Passfire have had their fair share of Political & Religious rants over the years.

Both Kyle and Ned are watching this closely on both of their websites now, not wanting these issues to impact their sites negatively.

I just renewed my membership at Passfire, the content and archives is well worth the admission price.

There seems to be a fair amount of activity on Fireworking with postings, but the content and archives have a ways to go compared to Passfire.

However, Ned does a really nice job with video tutorials, so this may be of value to new people entering the craft.

Both sites are worthy of consideration for anyone interested in the craft.

One advantage FW has over PF is Ned's videos that accompany many tutorials yet Kyle delves deep into the principles and histories behind things pyrotechnic. I couldn't choose just one!

Folks,
It has been made clear to me that I completely mistook what Memo was discussing earlier, and my response to him was way out of line.

I apologize to him, and to the rest of you for having had to put up with that.

Resurrection day... Is Passfire still relevant?

I tried to register and it gave me "an unexpected error occured during registration" and popped up the register window with authentication code at the bottom. So I entered the code and now it says that the username I selected is in use. I know from the admin's email that one of the usernames that I tried and got the same error sequence with IS NOT in use.

I emailed the admin and Kyle replied (makes sense). I sent some screenshots and it's been a few weeks with no contact since the last attempt at communication.

I will log in and let Kyle know you made payment.  I hope you put your email in the notes for the payment, otherwise he may not know how to activate your account.

Unfortunately, there is a bug in the system on Passfire that won't let you email Kyle.  As has been said already, the Articles are well worth the subscription.

Sent you a PM, I need your email in order to notify Kyle, if you'd like me to.
