AdmiralDonSnider Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I will respond on the charcoal making questions. I guess the yield will be around 25% by weight, depending on the degree of carbonisation. There will be smoke, especially at the beginning, but not an excessive amount with this load. Turning the retort on the charcoal will help speed and even up the process.
FlaMtnBkr Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 You are in China, the fireworks production capital of the world. I don't understand how getting the items you need is so hard. If you are spending 50 bucks on a third of a pound of charcoal, something ain't right. Maybe you should ask your parents before you spend your money. Making charcoal is sooo easy that if you can't do that, I don't understand how you expect to make actual fireworks. Making a ball mill is also easy. Do you not have a recycling yard, dump, tire shops, yard sales? You could have probably bought a motor for a ball mill with that $50 had you looked around. Even though motors can be recycled from other sources, many times for free. I'm not trying to be mean. But you really haven't demonstrated the knowledge, determination, and maturity to be making and working with dangerous fireworks components.
pyrogeorge Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I think that your mill runs too fast to grind properly the powder.
