Comet vs star

So again a newbie question.. But it is the "newbie" board so..

 

Anything wrong with glueing a star to top my shells rather than a comet. Question being, does the shape have any effect on performance? Haven't procured a comet pump yet. What's the best source?

No there's not. You can make serviceable star/comet pumps for hand ramming, from schedule 40 pvc pipe and hard wood dowels from a hardware store.

Syringe will also work for making pumped star/comet & it is available in various diameter.
