Well, I know a shell (you know it to probably) with double farfalle and green IP. It was broken with 26 gram of hotflash for a 6'' shell (IIRC), it was made out of PVC inserts rammed with meal and Ti, rammed inserts should be able to handle quite some pressure. Quite strange, did you use some good blackmatch?

How did you paste the shell/how did you manage to get it dry in one day? Extra spiking over the dry pasting?

BaCO3 + 2HCl -> BaCl2 + H2O + CO2

Ba = 137.33g/mol

C = 12.01g/mol

O = 16.00g/mol

H = 1.01g/mol

Cl = 35.45g/mol

BaCO3 = 197.34g/mol

HCl = 36.46g/mol

BaCl2 = 208.23g/mol

So 197.34g of BaCO3 added to 72.92g of dilute HCl will yield 208.23g of BaCl2.

Edit: Notice I said dilute. The reaction evolves gas and from memory is exothermic. You don't want it to happen too fast or you will get the whole boiling acid flying around the place problem.

Alright, thanks, and the acid I have is 31%, too strong?

Quite strong yeah. Dilute it to around 10% and you should be fine.

For 200g BaCO3 you'll ned ~750g 10% HCl.

So, i would need 232.5g (31% acid), added to 517.5g water to get 750g 10% acid?

Edit: Whoops, I stuffed this post up.

In actual fact every, the exact strength of the acid isn't important unless you intend to store it for later.

Measure how much acid you need at 31%, add it to a fair amount of water (then let it cool) and add your BaCO3.

Long story short I was working in the metal shop with an old industrial belt sander sanding a small plate of aluminum for an engine bracket. The plate got sucked in and catapulted my hands into the sandpaper, now I have a nice torn up middle finger with half the nail missing..

Pictures are to come.

Ouch, sounds very nasty, :unsure:

Ventsi, that must of hurt! luckily you didn't get that piece of aluminum you were sanding in your face.I hope you were wearing goggles.

And a face shield, I did try to wear a pair of gloves but I just could not hold the Al piece with them so I slipped them off. dry2.gif

It really does not hurt too bad, I've had more than my fare share of serious injuries and this one is up there in looks. The worst thing is that my other middle finger got nicked too which is a major PITA.....

See if you can post a pic holding up both your middle fingers.

Dammit, why do I always have to be eating food when I open pictures like that? I always know it's gonna be nasty, but I open them anyways....Actually, I was expecting a lot worse, tbh.

If you were expecting someone to ask you out at a certain time, and they didn't, but instead did so 2 weeks later, would you decide to say no? Lingering question that I can't seem to get off my mind.

If you wanted to go out with them, then just say yes

Finally getting 1lb of Blackhead Al, and 1lb of 400atomized Al and then realizing that you DON'T have KClO4 like you thought. Whats worse is when you remember why you don't have KClO4 and its due to ignorance of a step dad throwing most of your chems in the dumpster 3 years prior. Ahhhh gayness
