Sorry to hear about it Nighthawk, though I still liked the effect. It's a real PITA watching your creation fail after so much work on it.

Funny thing is, if you had called it a "mine", I would say it was one of the best mines I've ever seen! Still a pleasure to watch Nighthawk. What comp was the purple? It's a very nice color contrasting with those charcoal streamers.

Well thank you. The purple is an AP/copper chloride comp I came up with a few years back. If you would like it I'll dig it up.

F&*K..... I want to slap myself right now, I got all excited to make some chlorate since the cell hasn't been touched in over a year. I warm up some distilled water and it almost starts to boil, so I pour it into the body of my cell and go to get some KCl, as I'm coming back I see water everywhere. The thing looks like a raisin now..

Whatever, it was only a few bucks at Walmart. Still I really wanted to turn the cell on.2sad.gif

Haha! Don't mean to laugh, but the image is good for a chuckle. I know that exact container, and I'm pretty sure it is PET plastic, and thin stuff at that. Why not go for one of those "Click-Clack" food containers? A couple bucks more, and you've got a durable mini-cell. Look in "Bed, Bath, Beyond" type places. Good luck.

I plan on getting one when I upgrade my anodes *wink* but I don't want to take them outa the lid. Only cell I ever had to beat salt creep. I just need a new crappy jar, thing that got me is that I've had the thing up to 60*C without anything happening.

And good to have have you back!!!!laugh2.gif

I rather enjoy reading the pretentious, misguided, and oft-times inaccurate comments. Dunno how they got those college degrees. They make me laugh, though.2smile.gif

On the depressed side, I have like no money, and I have so many plans for the next year--beach camping, skydiving, SATs, prom, flying money, chemicals, mortars, etc. I just can't figure out where I'm gonna get the money...And I do have a job. Not to mention wanting to join Passfire and PGI, and go to PGI 2011.2angry.gif

There is only one thing to do, sell drugs become a city council member and pay yourself a $1,000,000.00 salary.

Well, out here in the wilds of Pennsylvania, every Bubba and their 50 inbred cousins are growing pot. I think I might have some competition. I do believe that my county a few years ago had the record for most heroin arrests in the state or something like that. Maybe I'll just get another job that doesn't have me working 1 day a weekdry2.gif

Dunno how I'm gonna face the world after college...1 day a week for five hours is more than enough work for me.

Honestly, you'll get bored not having anything to do. You'll want a job. Either that or you'll run out of money. Hey, if you're not ready for the real world, there is always graduate school.

Speaking of not the real world... are you heading to Ann Arbor this Fall?
Posted
No, it was close. Ann Arbor felt too much like the same thing, and I was looking for a change. Plus my host was kind of a bitch. I'm close enough I can attend MPAG shoots though.

As far as jobs & money- I was unemployed for 3 months at age 21 (in 2001) and it was horrible. Lost the house I was renting, moved in with my girlfriend's grandparents, and instead of making use of my free time, I just woke up at 3 pm and bummed around. I'm a very lazy person by nature, but that was no fun. Then I couldn't get into the army (recruitment was booming at the time, so they were looking for reasons to turn people away- even from infantry), so I ended up at a BBQ joint. Not fun, but I learned a lot there (and watched the invasion of Iraq on TV while cleaning out the smoker). What a lousy couple years. It made me realize a lot of important things though.

Heroin- my area of the midwest has been a hotbed over the past few years. A few people I've known since high school have died, one girl got HIV, and a lot of lives have been wrecked. I wish they would concentrate the 'war on drugs' on that stuff.

After reading the last few post in this thread I'm really not sure if I should add this subject changer here. LOL.................

Well here it goes,I quess this is my little pet-peeve

I sometime wonders if some people even brother to read the subject matter to fully understand what a person is trying to convey.

I have found that even when a simple question is asked that it is most usually answered with something that is of not a helpful reply. Sometimes when this happens it seems as if the subject is hi-jacked to serve one's own interest to increase their posting in the forum or even to gain in some personnal way.

I have seen this happen in some of the other subject matters as well.

But most disruptive item is the facted that the subject matter is lost or changed, and that questions or enve statements never really receive any replies that truly helpful.

Oh well.......................................................

Crap, major design flaw. Anyone who has talked to me recently has probably heard about my pastel rainbow shell. As it turns out, it's probably not the best to use 2.5" long spolette tubes on shells that are only 2.5" long. It just so happens they don't fit together, and I don't have enough stars (or time) to use longer casings.

Have you shortened the spolette tubes?

Of course a reasonable solution come along after I've given up.

They are all completely matched and choked already. I could have taken them apart, cut 1" off, and all would be be fine, but it's way too late now unless I want to go another night without sleep. I am just going to build one for the september shoot. To be honest, this is a completely untested item, so it's probably best I'm not bringing it to competition.

I just got back from the same fireworks store I had been going to when I was a kid in Bulgaria. Unfortunately they downsized their inventory since my last visit. I wanted to buy at atleast a few dozen small roman candles, BUT apparently they are now banned since most people hold them in their hand. But guess what? They sell anything from 1"to 3" candles to the public. 2angry.gif

Ohh well, I wanted to put together a nice display for my mother's birthday since she has not been here(BG) in six years and she is celebrating her birthday here. I guess I'm going to buy a bunch of 96 shot color pearls , a bunch of color and crackle shell roman candles and some double break stingers, should be fun, IF I can find fast fuse.

Is there ANY way to speed up the burn rate of regular 2.2mm Visco?

Posted

Why didn't you tell me, I could've given blackmatch to you.

Haha, don't be surprised. In Bulgaria, things are like Alice in Wonderland

Are you in the province now?

I said CATO so many times last night that I should change my last name to Clouseau

Why didn't it turn out as espected Explomaan? How did you make the can shell?
Posted
It looks like the inserts didn't hold the 11 gram hotflash break dusted on MCRH. The shell was spiked with 2*12 flax rope.
