Mumbles Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Michigan is one of the place I am applying to for graduate school. I actually almost went there for undergrad. I still don't know why I didn't, they gave me a very generous scholarship, and I loved the campus.

Expensive, liberal, did I say expensive...but yes...very cool :{) And The Big House SHOULD be worth attending within a couple years LOL! Ugh...

flying fish Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 (edited) Well then I screwed that one up . Long & Lonely days of sitting at home writing my thesis are really getting to me. The weekends have been great because I get to hang out with friends, but not during the week since they all have jobs and/or school. I find myself hanging out on Facebook WAAAYY too much during the week. Chatting online with friends is cool and all, but it can become counter-productive quite easily. If I had a job, this wouldn't be a problem. But I'm not sure if it's a good idea to try to get a job before finishing my thesis since the deadline is fast approaching. TheEskimo Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) Is it natural to really dislike older siblings? My older brother just got back from 3 months in Maine; I find now that I cannot stand to be around him, and wish that he would leave. I find him to have a predisposition to getting mad while driving, and he seems, pardon me, stupid to me. He will agree with what people say, acting like he knows what they are talking about, when he doesn't. This, and other really irritating habits, have me to the point of screaming at him. Is this part of growing up, or am I the one with issues? Edited November 9, 2009 by TheEskimo
scarbelly Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I think disliking older siblings is pretty common. I have an older brother and we get along well, though we don't communicate a whole lot, but I know many people who often get in fights with their siblings. I know one girl who said she used to rip her sister's hair out of her head, leaving her with bald spots. I think it's a pretty natural thing.

Is this part of growing up, or am I the one with issues? Well...... how old is he, and how old are you? Gone for 3 months you say..... About the only time 3 months can make that much personality difference is in your teen years, like...... when most kids turn 13 and their parents wonder who abducted their child and replaced them by an ill-tempered, emotional alien with a voracious appetite.
TheEskimo Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Well, he's been going to college for 2 years now. He took a year off this year, to work in a state park in Maine. But this time, when he came home, I just can't stand to be around him. Dunno why. He is 21, and I am 16.
TheSidewinder Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 21, eh..... So, he's old enough to think he knows everything, but too old to slap upside the head for doing so. He may simply be full of himself. That, and you're the "twirpy little kid brother" who's now growing up. Sounds like he's flexing his independence. Humor him if necessary. It's probably a phase he'll outgrow.
TheEskimo Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Aaaaggghhh!!!! I just got my first deer with the car. Thank goodness I was going under 40, but it was thrashing around in the grass, and finally died......Happily, the car is OK

TheEskimo Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Nope. Called up a neighbor who likes to hunt, and he said that he would go over and dispose of the evidence.
