Twotails Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Math techer hates me, I tell him i dident understand the quiz this week ( i missed two days of class, and missed the review) I dident enen know what i was doing, i just asked him to explane a sample probem, just to set my mind on task, he he said i should know this (and i was out sick two weeks ago when he started it, yet he still wont explane to me whats going on) He looked at my paper and, right infount of my peers said i failed. He has also failed me for using pen on homework. I fricken hate him, Luckly i dont have to pass his class to graduate. but on the other hand i passed my AP Physics test today 100%!
TheEskimo Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 That sucks. Here's some music for your mood. Yer feelin' blue, right?
NightHawkInLight Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 That sucks. Here's some music for your mood. Yer feelin' blue, right? Lol haven't heard that in ages...Thought you were linking to a blues song. I have a lot of blues favorites, but this cover is up there: And the original I like even more, but many of you will likely not:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NNvRu31y3o...PL&index=56 Man that blues gets me every time...Sweeeeet
RUUUUUN Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Differential equations... in "nice" terms "related rates" E.G. if you walk X speed on grass and Y speed on pavement and you need to walk through the grass and along the pavement to get to the bus stop, at what angle and how far should you walk in the grass and how far and at what angle on the pavement in order to get to the bus stop most quickly. Assuming the it is 100 yards ("vertically"on a cartesian plane, (Y axis)) to the bus stop, you have a 10 yards (laterally on a cartesian plane (x axis)) wide patch of grass and a 1 yard (laterally on a cartesian plane, (X axis)) wide side walk. OH, my personal favorite in the realm of differential equations: optimization. I.E. you have an equalateral triangular bottom brownie pan that needs to have a volume of X cm^3, What are the optimum dimensions(dementians!) of the pan to use the least amount of stainless steel on each pan assuming a uniform thickness for the walls and the bottom. Only the problems usually start out more harmlessly: You are a company that manufactures baking dishes for retail...
flying fish Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I was supposed to hang out with two of my friends today, but somehow BOTH OF EM got sick. God wants my life to be boring :/. The MPAG shoot on Saturday was super fun though, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Plus I have some good plans for the coming weekend. I guess it's just this whole thesis depression thing kicking in again. Damn I don't wanna write it.
Twotails Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Bah, Im sick as well (hope its not swine, but oh-well if it is) had to be put back on my inhaler + another inhaler, and antibiotics. Good news is i get a few days off.

Good news is i get a few days off. I can tell from halfway around the world that you don't have the swinve flu. Have fun figuring out why.
FrankRizzo Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 PGF, What kind of reply is that? Antibiotics are given for secondary infections.
Twotails Posted October 20, 2009 Posted October 20, 2009 I think he gave me the antibiotic, becouse of my ears blocked(always is when i get sick) its Azthromycin. And the inhalers are for my Brochidus(Sp?) On another noat, Its freaking Hot!(or atleast it feels that way) last time i took my tempiture, it was 100.8F >.< Nothing like being sick. So im out of school/work for Another day! Im realy running out of things to do.
TheEskimo Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 Twotails...I eventually got up to 103.9. I just drank tea while lying down in the shower all day...it was nice. Play a video game, it'll get the pulse going, without having to go outside. Or come down and visit me; I've already had it, and it'd be only like 5-6 hours to get here.
RUUUUUN Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 It's Bronchitis, unless you have a plugged nose, then it is bronkidus.(If you are cockney, it is brownkitis from what I have heard...) What is the emoticon ">.<" ?? Is it a smiley or something???? On a more depressing note, I was attempting to get let off early on friday, so I could go to San Diego to see my buddy gradutate MCRD, and see his and my families... but that ain't gonna happen
Richtee Posted October 21, 2009 Posted October 21, 2009 IWhat is the emoticon ">.<" ?? Is it a smiley or something????I think it represents constipation? Looks like it anyway..."Grrrrr.."
Ventsi Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Mr.Vista just royally screwed me up, my computer has been malfunctiomimgfor a week now but today it just went ape shit on me...First it wouldn't turn on the it started showing a whole bunch of colors/symbols...Pretty pissed, I had a lot of data on that P.O.S. and I'm going to have to import it onto my back up PC for now. On the random side of things, anyone tried the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew? Best instant coffee I've ever had, not to mention I now have like 20 free coffee coupons!

Funny...my Mac seems to be working just fine. Still. For 20+ years.

optimus Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Fuck Vista. Get Windows 7 - I've been running it for months with no issue whatsoever.... which is more than I can say for Snow Leopard, which has successfully killed every mac it's been installed on at the studio where I work. Old profiles get deleted, printer drivers not supported, horrible stability issues, the list goes on...
Mumbles Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Funny...my Mac seems to be working just fine. Still. For 20+ years. Yeah, these things take quite a beating http://www.brianmicklethwait.com/education/archives/Abacus.gif Our first windows computer still works too. It' 8 MB hard drive glory, and 5 1/4" floppy drive are still rocking on.
Bonny Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 On the random side of things, anyone tried the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew? Best instant coffee I've ever had, not to mention I now have like 20 free coffee coupons! I haven't actually drank any, but I did use it as a marinade base for some deer last week. Seemed to work as well as regular coffee.
flying fish Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 (edited) So.... I really like physics. But I don't know if I LOVE it. And 7 years requires LOVE! I really can't decide whether I want to go for a PhD. So far I'm looking at Michigan Tech and Univ. of Teledo for PhD programs (Maybe UofM, but don't know if my grades are good enough), and Oakland University if I just want a Masters (which can apparently be done in only 3 semesters!) The mere fact that I'm depressed in thinking about my future makes me think that going for a PhD is not in my best interest. If it were, I'd be excited, right? Edited October 22, 2009 by flying fish

OU is local...think of the savings... plus my wife works there...maybe we can fix yer grades up ;{)
flying fish Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 True, and cool that your wife works at OU. Of course that also means another 1.5 years of living with my parents! I'm going to be an old man before I finally move out lol. I guess that's OK though, they don't seem to mind. With science PhDs, Room, Board & tuition is generally paid for in return for the research and Teaching assistant/grading work that one does. But of course, that's still the better part of a decade without a steady source of income. I'm thinking of at least starting off at OU this Winter (after the holidays), assuming I haven't found a decent job by then. That way I can stay on my parents' health insurance, and get an "early" start to grad school. After that semester I can decide for sure where I want to go/ what I want to do, or just stay & finish a masters at OU. Which might be the way to go, because I just don't feel like a career student. Rather start making money so I can pay my parents back what I owe them!
KruseMissile Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Wolverines baby! Thats where the michigan(hockey move) was practically invented
