Richtee Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'm convinced a person need good human interaction, and everyone needs a creative outlet. If you cannot create (music, pyro, models, writing, anything creative), then you spiral down into a nasty funk that is very hard to crawl out of. Sonofabitch. I think you nailed something there Swede. I have really been in a funk as of late. Not able to do anything... well physical anyway. Would be the PERFECT time for me to work on some pyro. I have been writing a bit, and cooking some, which is still tough due to my ankle. But that is very insightful, man. I shall use it to my benefit- thanks!

That would at least satisfy you somewhat, even if you can't build anywhere else. I was just thinking about posting to the email list about starting building more at the shoots. Up until now there hasn't been any building on site besides when there's a shell/mine/whatever class going on, at least for the short time I have been a member. It would be nice to get there early and build to the hearts content until dark. That's probably always been possible and just not taken advantage of since driving pyro to the shoot was not an issue until recently.
KruseMissile Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I'm sick of work. We don't get massive summer breaks. School is easier than work, and more interesting, too. That's life. You work, work, work, then get sick and old. When you finally have decent money, your youth is gone, burned up in brutal decades of labor for The Man. Taxes, Taxes everywhere, car and home maintenance, unappreciative children gone wild. All this awaits you! Get a wife lol(i assume u have one already) and get some =)
Richtee Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 Get a wife lol(i assume u have one already) and get some =)Heh... it's that easy is it? Damn and me 25 years into it. Crap... If I'd have only known! You outta join MPAG! Got another shoot coming up in October. That would at least satisfy you somewhat, even if you can't build anywhere else. Actually, the ATF agent asked if I belonged to any groups...I think in a positive way.
TheEskimo Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 My eyes burn!!! My contacts are being silly, and I look like I have pinkeye. So it's wearing glasses until it goes away....
Mumbles Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Don't be suprised if you have a mild eye infection. Mine do the same thing after I wear them too long, or do something stupid while wearing them. It doesn't always go away for me, but I treat it as a sign to change them,
OneEyeCharlie Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 My eyes burn!!! You gotta think positively. At least you can say eyes; as in plural.
flying fish Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I take it the "OneEye" part of your name isn't just for kicks and giggles?
TheEskimo Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Hooray...my eyes are all better. A little pink at the edges, but some eydrops, and no contacts have made them better.@One-Eye...why the one eye? Or has it been discussed before?
OneEyeCharlie Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I got a fish hook in my eye when I was 4. Plays havoc with whole depth perception thing. On the positive side, any time I think it would be funny to take my eye out... I know I've had enough to drink.

yellowcard Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 only if you're so stupid you can ignore the rest
scarbelly Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 I wouldn't say ignoring it. It is accepting the dark side and not letting it get you down. It's easy to let stuff get you down, but it takes a lot of will power to accept the bad parts of life and to use them to make you stronger.
Richtee Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 only if you're so stupid you can ignore the restSomeone's humor detector seems askance ;{)
RUUUUUN Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 He's reading the depression thread.. What do you expect?? Misery loves company and doesn't like being overthrown! I, personally, would fix his statement: "if you are SMART enough TO ignore the rest..." I am a pessemist but I am most certainly not depressed! "A pessemist is simply a well informed optimist."

I've heard that before, but I'm gald you posted it and reminded me...I needed that. Edited September 13, 2009 by TrueBluePyro
Ventsi Posted September 19, 2009 Posted September 19, 2009 Wow, just the stupidity of people amazes me...It took a team of scientists to figure out that if a zombie attack was to break out we'd be screwed.... [insert exploding head smiley/] Zombie
Ralph Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Awesome next study they should do is if the boogy monster existed at what speed would little children have to run from bed not to get caught bye him
TheEskimo Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Heh-heh...the boogey man cometh....My dad had me convinced that the furnace walked at night. On the depression thread...I'm sick--ear pressure, coughing, sore throat, and runny nose.
flying fish Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 (edited) This is perhaps more appropriate for the "WTF is happening with my life" thread! I'm done with undergrad in a few days, assuming I pass everything! My plan was to work in Ann Arbor for the year and go to grad school next year. Well...my co-op sponsor just had their most significant source of R&D funding dropped...Needless to say they can no longer afford to hire me. Well... On a different note, I F*cking hate the fact that I have to spend my last week with my college buddies cramming for pointless finals. O-Chem and numerical methods are the ones that I'm in danger of failing...neither had anything to do with what I was studying at Kettering. I'm shure I'll visit my friends up here occasionally after I gradumatate, but I still really wish I couda had a fun, light term with my friends rather than such a hellish one. Then I have two weeks to write a frickin' thesis and pray that it is processed in time for me to graduate in December. Plus there's the good old "me and my best friend are interested in teh same girl" scenario. ROFL. In any case, I'll be shure to tell all of my college roomates and friends that I love them enough times to make everyone feel extremely awkward . Edited September 22, 2009 by flying fish
scarbelly Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I was just depressed to discover that a website such as this: http://www.stop-fireworks.org/english.htm exists
NightHawkInLight Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I was just depressed to discover that a website such as this: http://www.stop-fireworks.org/english.htm exists That turns my stomach. I'm tempted to email them, though I'm not sure what. Maybe in the morning with a clearer head. What really gets to me is that, like every other anti fireworks propaganda, the majority of the accidents they describe are likely from b*mbs. Not only that, but they include MANY accidents that occurred in illegal overseas fireworks factories, as if what they are proposing would have any effect on those factories. They include it simply for the shock factor. BS Whatever happened to the save the trees hippies that could lean back on the dozer they were chained too and enjoy the colored lights while taking a long toke? We've spawned a whole new generation. Good job on the most fitting post to this thread that I've seen in a long while.
scarbelly Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I actually found that page when I was looking up Tad K.'s accident. That was one of the accidents on there. But the thing about it that is stupid is that, as you said, most of the accidents are from bombs. Many of the others are from people acting stupidly... People can act stupidly with anything. If someone were to throw baseballs at random peoples heads, would people say "BAN BASEBALL!"? No, I doubt it.
