TranslucentDragon Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Hi, I am looking for a club for pyrotechnics in Florida and I was sent to narbars.org. Are they a solely rocketry club, or do they do pyrotechnics in general? Also, if they are, are the they closest club to the West Palm Beach Area? I vaguely remember there being talk about an Okeechobee Pyrotechnics Guild but I can't remember. I figured I would ask these before I asked BARS themselves.

TranslucentDragon Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 They're located in Palm Coast right? That's too far north of me. That's why I'm asking about Broward, and Okeechobee, as it would be a lot closer
Mumbles Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 The FPAG is the only pyrotechnics centered group I know of in Florida, so it's a take it or leave it type of scenario. They did hold their major shoot of the year, 4F, in Okeechobee last year though, and I get the feeling it will return for the coming future. They also generally hold their spring shoot, 2F, there as well. It's at the L-Cross Xtreme Sports Ranch.
FlaMtnBkr Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 FPAG is state wide. Most of the meetings are in the Orlando/Tampa area. The 2 major festivals are in Okeechobee for the time being as we lost the site by Tallahassee which was a beautiful place. Pretty sure that is all there is.
TranslucentDragon Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks. Do they have a website where I can get an email to contact them?
FlaMtnBkr Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 No public website that I know of. You need to be sponsored to become a member. I think you can be voted in at most meetings and probably at 4F this fall (November probably, at Okeechobee). I am disabled and don't make it to most meetings but I can get you in contact with the right person if interested. Send me a message and I can either give you an email address or give me yours and pass it along.

I'm in South Florida as well and would like to converse with some fellow enthusiast!!
