808goboom Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 I was wondering if the fragments created from round crosette pumps are even or not....having a round cavity in a crosette star seems kinda weird because I'd imagine the fragments wouldn't be even, making the effect not as great as if the fragments were even( created using the "x" shape crosette pump...lmk what you guys think about round shot crosette pumps or if you experience them gong off and how they turned out.
Mumbles Posted June 29, 2013 Posted June 29, 2013 They do not break into 4 even pieces without a great deal of extra work, but then again, they're not supposed to. When made properly they do typically break into 3-5 pieces though. The effect is most often used in shells. The real beauty of them comes not from 4 even pieces, but from the hundreds of pieces which are crossing over each other and making nice patterns in the sky. That said, if I was making single fire crossette comets, I'd use a square or fluted configuration that Rich Wolter designed.
