pyrochris Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I admit that I overlooked the existance for k3wls when I made my last post. And I guess you are right about the ground salutes. But you have to admit. The cops may get suspicious if they hear a three inch shell or something. Thats exactly what i didnt want. I wanted the effect of an aerial salute. Whats wrong with a BOOM one in a while? I dont say im a k3wl or anything, I love pyrotechncis all together, but it pisses me off, when i do absolutely nothing bad, but light a few salutes in the woods several hundred yards away from anyone? And you see retarded k3wls on here with APAN and AM+MN+AL explosives in peoples mailboxes and nothing happens? This government sucks ass.
dragonman586 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I think that there shouldnt be laws against pyro.....just so that the k3wl problem would work itself out...if ya know what i mean . I just cant stand the fact that the actions of the stupid limit the resources of those who know. Where is the justice....but i have to admit I like the occasional ground salute. Just really gets out some frustrations to hear a nice boom!

Grizzly Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Im sick of everyone talkin bad about salutes like everyone is kewl for liking them and watching them. Salutes are fireworks (Ground and Aerial) I dont care what anyone says. The problem is you got people using flash and callin it a b0mb as with many of the videos you see with little kids messin around with the stuff and putting it in plastic containers etc. These are the people who make it look bad the people blowing stuff up and thinkin its funny. Every single person on here likes an occasional salute once in awhile dont deny it. Theres just too many dumb people callin it what it aint a b0mb and the media always makes it look bad callin m80's a 1/10th stick of dynamite etc.
dragonman586 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 I just admitted to enjoying an occasional salute! And my definition of a k3wl is a person who does retarded shit like making 1/4 sticks and big boom thingines! Runnin around calling it b0mbs and shit and strapping them to cats! Those people sicken me!

Its too bad these idiots have to ruin it for other people otherwise they still would be legal to purchase.
cplmac Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 It doesn't help that so many things are called "M80's". It has become a generic term to refer to any ground salute, making it easier to associate all ground salutes to illegal fireworks.
aquaman Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I believe everyone, if not most, of the members on here or anywhere else started somewhere around making a salute. I won't deny, I first got interested in pyro a while back trying to learn how to make a firecracker. I learned from downloaded stuff on the net, the websites of members from here, books from the local library, and learned that there's other things to make then just making big booms. If people don't get carried away they'll be fine. Posting vids of salutes on Youtube probably isn't the best way to promote pyrotechnics as a hobby, and I will probably never use it. I believe the best way is if you think you know somebody that's just starting to learn just let them watch you... They'll see how careful you are and maybe our kewl problems will go away (maybe?). I've never had trouble with the law and I plan to keep it that way. If your neighbors get mad when ever you do stuff, stop. Go somewhere else, they'll only bring trouble to you and just setting more stuff off is where the cops get involved. Try to find a friend that has private property in the country-side where there's like nobody for miles. -Sorry to hear Chris that the Gov. pin-pointed you. Just stay low for a while and maybe read some books and you'll be suprised on what you'll learn. You'll look back and be like Wow! I knew nothing before. later
