saluterocket Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 I heard from someone that a few days ago an individual that goes by the username muarurdurr10 (Spelling?) was raided by the BATF after his IP address was tracked from youtube. im not sure of what kind of pyro-videos he had, but they were probably ground-salutes. Either way, this is kind of disturbing, and worrying. So everyone who uploads on youtube, be careful as to what you put on the web. stay safe, Saluterocket

It's frighteningly ironic, that his first post here was this: "hi guys, i have been making salutes and salute rockets from quite some time. They are willing to track someone down making fireworks and give them the worst time of their life. For instance my dad's best friend got shot and killed and they didn't do anything to the guy that shot him. And yet they will raid your house and arrest you for making fireworks. That's just wrong. By the way does anybody know what they did to pyrochris?

I posted the videos without using a proxy, and it was my own fault in the first place. everything is fine and i have not been charged with anything. Just going to lay low for a few months. The salute videos were no intention of any kewl bomb d00d antics, they were merely tests for cakes i was going to use down the road, but now after all this crap, i am just going to take my permit test and do this shit legally.I will still be doing things here and there, but that isn't going to happen unless i go to J+J pyro to help out over there. Please realize i had no intention of selling out any distributors, and I did not sell out any of them, as they just now pursued me for stuff that happened 6-7 months ago, they don't have much to go on, so thankfully, I got lucky. What i would of liked before you posted this, would of been my permission to say my name so openly, but anyway, it happened now so i cant really do anything.

And Dr. Hextromeister, they came to my house 6 MONTHS after i posted the videos which is really stupid.

As far as the room or magazine space, it can be found if you are persistant enough. Join a group and it can be acquired from people. I think 30 people can be licenced per magazine. The amount of land required is not that hard to obtain either.

Posting videos of illegal activities and then being surprised when the authorities knock on your door, makes no sense. If someone robbed a store and then posted a video of themselves, wouldn't you say they deserved to get caught? The pryo hobby is under attack from all sides and common components are getting harder and harder to find. How many posters here complain that they can't find certain chemicals? Do ya think that posting videos of blowing up toilets and mailboxes helps? Why not just send an engraved invitation to your local BATF agent and let them know when and where it's going to take place first? If things keep going the way they are now, the only fireworks you'll see in a few years will be in old photos.

In 54 years, Ive done some pretty stupid and illegals stunts and I imagine I'll do some more before I'm done. To post a video for the world to see is somewhat less than intelligent in my opinion. Furthermore, to post those videos here and on other forums is killing the pyrotechnics hobby. "Hey everybody look at ter kewl b**b i maked. why kan't i get any perklorate?"
cplmac Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 I like seeing salutes on video, I like seeing ALL pyro on video, except maybe sparklers. It's one thing to post a video blowing up the neighbors mailbox, it's another thing altogether to make pyro and post videos of it to share your work with others. In this way you can compare different formulas the affect of changing this that or the other. There are plenty of reasons to share your work on the web, to simply assume we cower in a corner and capitulate for sake of fear is not the way to move forward in hobby pyro.

I was looking around for shell videos and there was even a freakin tutorial how to make a BP "bomb", and in a turorial made by the leader of pyrowiki on how to make 2" aerial shells, someone posted that the shells would be good for firework fights!!! I might have to delete my youtube account, but that place is my easiest way to load videos on the net.
