h0lx Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 Ok I see most of the people relate fireworks day with 4th of july, but where I live fireworks are used on new year's eve. So here's the question: What is in your arsenal? I will probably only make some smokers because I am out of all the goodies(charcoal, sulfur etc).
Pretty green flame Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 My arsenal currently consists of four 70mm canister shell, one 100mm round shell (which will probably not be fired as i can't get a proper tube), some rockets with headers (3) and a lot of commercials stuff, including some cat 3 500g cakes (not exacly the most legal thing here hehe) That is all.
weknowpyro Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 This is mine and joe609's line up. 4 starmines,2-2" shells and a smily face lance sign. Plus i have a 100 shot commerical cake.Should be fun.
styropyro Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I'm going to try a 3" D1 glitter if I can get it finished in time. And if I'm lucky I will get to try out PGF's Pearl star in time for new years but if not I'll just have to give it a try a few days after. But I'll make a bunch of small fountains and other small things too.
Chris Posted December 29, 2006 Posted December 29, 2006 I have about seven 2" mines with different effects, three of four 3" paper shells and a whole bunch of 3" plastic shells. I also built and 1,5" exhibition candle along with few smaller ones. I'm very keen on seeing the results. I'll try to make a few 3" mines, but I'm running out of mortars very soon.
joker5 Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 i am doing a show at my house on the 30th. i have 265 1.75 inch shells , a couple of larger single shot tubes , and 10 500gram cakes. then, on new years eve i am getting paid to shoot a show about the same size, all 1.4g, class c stuff. i am also going to throw in 5 or 6 1.75 inch 35 gram aerial salutes in both shows. last saturday i got paid $175.00 to shoot someone elses shells for about 20 minutes. good times. everyone have a safe and happy new year.
oriansbelt Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 All I'm going to do is a fountais, a nice wheel and some salutes in addition to the bonfire we are going to have if it rains some more. I haven't yet made any arial shells cuz the chance of a fire is too high most of the year.
Frozentech Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 First a 1.3 display for the town that I'll be helping shoot, then ( providing the Chamber of Commerce doesn't wreck me with open bar tab ) back home to shoot 5 3" canister shells, 1 4" crossette canister, a few mines, a B cake, some C cakes, and whatever else I have laying around.
h0lx Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 Now I have 400g of smoke mix baking in my oven:)
Chris Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Didn't have a pic earlier. Anyway, here is my arsenal for tomorrow. http://www.apcforum.net/files/nye06.jpg
itwasntme Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 Not much my rockets have no power, at ALL! I tried a longer core but it flew into a tree, vertically!( I just loled at that) Possibly some film canister shells, but my mortar is mostly dead from 5 grams BP!!!!!! hese a pic http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m310/ph...49/DSCN0126.jpghttp://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m310/ph...49/DSCN0127.jpg I am also making some bottle salutes, unless those some how fuck them selves up somehow.
h0lx Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 roll some 10-20 layers of kraft on your mortar, that is a spiral wound thin tube, which are really weak.
itwasntme Posted December 31, 2006 Posted December 31, 2006 roll some 10-20 layers of kraft on your mortar, that is a spiral wound thin tube, which are really weak. Thanks, will try, but cant wait for the glue to dry. Will duct tape work to hold the kraft on?
h0lx Posted December 31, 2006 Author Posted December 31, 2006 probably, if it's tight. Anyway I just finished my MONSTER smoker, featuring 2,5 kg or 5,5 pounds of smoke mix.
Dr. Hextromeister Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 probably, if it's tight. Anyway I just finished my MONSTER smoker, featuring 2,5 kg or 5,5 pounds of smoke mix. Please tell me you video taped this .
h0lx Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 No I didn't, because I don't have a camera, the E-500 don't record. but I have "pre-fire" pictures.
moonshot Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 I didn't get busy soon enough to have a lot of homemade stuff for New Years. I got 4 1/2" ID skyrockets done.http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m314/di.../Picture057.jpg And I shot some 2" cannister shells I built last year. http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m314/di...=Picture058.flv Plus I had 30 1.4g 1.75 shells.
