Some pyro porn.....

Both of these machines work quiet nice, but it would be nice to make them quieter while rolling stars.

In an enclosed room they sound like gravel and rocks tumbling in the drums.

What RPM are you running on those? Do you need to change the RPM as the star size changes?

Both of these machines were modified with a polymer bushing that drives the drum. The original gear that drives the drum is removed and a polymer bushing replaces the gear, so they are basically using a rubber wheel that turns the drum. There are several tutorials that show the parts that are needed and how to modify the cement mixers. They both run at about 48 RPMS. You can always adjust the angle of the drum which changes the action on the stars as they gain in size.
