Cookieman Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hey guys,I had a good hour long talk with my lawyer today and she told me that if I file for bankruptcy all the lawsuits and the trial will go away. I am considering this option and starting over. The only problem with it is that it will be on my credit report for 7 years and the trustee will take the equity in my home but still allow me to live there with my son. BTW all you older members remember Anyka? I saw her on TV last week in an episode of Gypsy sisters. She is Mellie
pyroman2498 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Just know we care and will keep you in our prayers , we all care about you Dave and hope you have a speedy and successful recover , I never really got to know you well , but hope that changes Any ways just stopping by to wish you well StaySafe and Stay green ~Steven
dagabu Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Sorry I have been away so long, we have had a hard winter this year and work has demanded a lot of my time. Things are coming along well and I may be getting out of my mask soon. Also, keep your eyes peeled, I will be selling off a lot of my stuff to help pay for medical bills. There are a lot of nice things but there will be no chems, mostly tooling, tubes, the press and power-pack, etc.

Ther is always that faint hope that you'd return to the dark side if you got the tools, buy once they are gone... Yeah. I know. Futile hope, but it's the last we got.Glad to hear your getting better.B!
nater Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Glad to hear you made it through the Winter. It was a rough one for us and my family up your way said it was a bad one for them too.

Fear not, i built 90% of the tooling I have as well as the press etc. I will be keeping my best tooling and some NEPT tubes for the future. I need to come up with some serious cash to keep the wolves at bay and this will give me some room to run. I'll be back here kicking hornets nests before long. ;-)

We love ya, and just don't want to let you go. I've heard keeping the wolves at a distance can be a problem, and being the modern kind, they aren't even afraid of fire, so i can sort of understand the issue. I'll try and keep an eye out, we'll see what happens with them tools.B!
bob Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 So good to see you on here Dag. I am sad that the "wolves" are after you, and hope that they will not be for much longer.Hope to see you get back into pyrotechnics in the future.I'm praying for you.bob
dagabu Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 The 'wolves' are just bill collectors, not a big deal, would just like to pay them off.
BrainDamage Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Legal consequences aside, I hope Dagabu recovers quickly and healthy again.I do not know the guy but you said it all right there
dagabu Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Legal consequences? I have no legal consequences, the disfigurement and life long recovery are plenty. That aside, I am healthy and joy filled, I laugh and sing, tease my kids and chase my wife around pretending to pinch her. Life is good, God is good, you all here are good and so is pyro. I just need to take care of my family now and part of that is making sure I pay all my bills. The press, powerpack, deep cycle battery, battery charger and 2 poly carbonate 1/2" thick shields are $2000.00 delivered to Mason City Iowa or anywhere in Minnesota or Western Wisconsin. Is that too much? Perhaps but I need to sell it for that. 1
pyroman2498 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Would you be willing to accept donations ? I really would like for you to keep your stuff but keep your money hungry wolves at bay . Stay safe and stay green ~Steven
dagabu Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Steven, A couple guys here are working on a fundraiser for me as we speak, there really is no concern on my part to ever be rid of anything I can make or buy so selling it all off just means I have to make it all again once I get my hands back in shape. In the mean time, why not share with you all what I have amassed and see what cool fireworks you can make with it all? Recovery will be measured in years, not days and with my injuries, I hesitate to post pictures due to this being a public site but I assure you, this will be a life long issue and cant even guess if I will ever build anything again.

pyroman2498 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 , I just feel bad knowing your dedication to this hobby and how many you have helped , I look up to you. I know recovery is a life long process , and I've seen some of your pictures(the ones put on caring bridge ) and ....... *crys * it makes me re think everything thing I do in pyro , I've seen burn hospital victims before and use to tell my self this couldn't happen to me , but having it happen to someone closer to me puts me in great shock and fear . But I realized when I took this hobby that there are dangers and I accepted them because it's something I live to do , it my way of expressing my art , creativity and puts my head hard to work . Nothing beats this hobby to me and I feel like you use to feel the same about the hobby. To everyone , I wish you all a safe journey and happy pyro build season . Stay safe and stay green ~Steven
dagabu Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hey all, check out the Agora... I am starting to raise funds for my recovery.
xTHUNDERx Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) Hey Dag, I hope your recovery is coming along well. I only just saw this thread, but I've been reading your posts as a guest for a few years now. You've provided me with lots of helpful information and I hope you continue giving advice to less experienced pyros. Best wishes, Thunder. Edited May 9, 2014 by xTHUNDERx

xTHUNDERx Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I saw that just after I posted so I edited my post. My apologies, Thunder.
dagabu Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 No need to apologize, thank you for your well wishes, that means a lot! Take a look at the bottom of this page: DAGABU PIX As you can see, I am about as healed as I will get, the hands have a long way to go and will stall out at about 60% of what they could do. Life is good, I am as happy as ever and I have new joy after walking the line between life and death. I am starting to post again but will not be building, just watching. Stay Green. 1
BurritoBandito Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I'm early to the discussion. Dag, Spitfire, I hope you guys don't mind me inviting myself in here, but I would very much like to be a part of this conversation. Surely we can all learn from this.
BurritoBandito Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) ...Go ahead ans take this to the safety thread on me. We can discuss it more over there.I understand that your memory on the accident is pretty limited, however I am hoping that there are certain details which you may recall. Such as: 1) Was this standard BP you were emptying from your mill? 2) What was the media made from?3) What was the surface you were emptying onto?4) Was your charcoal screened before being milled, or was there the potential for a stray object?5) Any other potential factors that you think may have played a hand? I know that absence of evidence does not equate to evidence of absence, but I have failed to ignite BP with the arc from a 150,000 volt stun gun. Do you think static could have been the culprit? If you do not feel comfortable answering any of these questions I will understand entirely. I do not ask to try and determine "what you did wrong", but how I can avoid the same circumstances that led up to your incident. Thank you for sharing the details that you have already, and anymore that you see fit. Edited May 30, 2014 by BurritoBandito
