wb2754 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I am (very) new to pyrotechnics and have been roaming the forums to learn as much as I can, and I have read a several topics about home made ball mills. I recall seeing a calculator for determining pulley sizes to obtain the correct jar rpm, but I can't seem to find it again. Could someone point me to it. Thanks very much.
Mumbles Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 There is one on Passfire.com That may have been it. Otherwise there are general ones around the internet.
Bobosan Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 This is a loadable app from the net. There are plenty more online calculators.RPM Calculator Setup.zip 1
SekndAmendment Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Those are some great resources. You should be able to figure it out with their help. If you still have questions you can google gear ratios (same thing as pulley sizing except gears change direction and pulleys don't) and learn the math. It's extremely simple and you can pick it up in just a few minutes.
