fredhappy Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 #chlorure : It is a good thing that you asked for more information instead of just replicating this tutorial you saw. The whole problem with tutorials is that they can be downright dangerous and made by people who have not done proper research themselves. Anyone can post a 'tutorial". Best is to research each mixture yourself and always opt for the safest way of handling it...especially with whistlemixes.. best fred
ChloRure Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 I tried 2 whistle this weekend, they worked both, first one was about 3/8 id and other one 3/4 id. Just the sound was louder on the larger one. I did manage to lite them eith a fuse but was wondering how people fuse them since no hole ? Just a dip of glue ?
nater Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 If the whistle comp is properly recessed in the tube, you can curl the last inch or so of the visco into a loop and set the loop on top of the comp so it curls around the inside of the end of the tube. Fusing rockets this way works too, since whistle can sometimes be sensitive to paper nosing or inserting the fuse into the nozzle.
Mumbles Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 For inserts, a nosing similar to the giving fire side of a spolette is used. They're not as sensitive to fusing methods as rockets are though. Frequently a partial increment of BP is pressed onto the whistle as well to act as a prime.
