Flaky234 Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Hi, How many g of bentonite do you use for you 1lb coreburner? Is 7-8g too much and will it cato if the plug is 1,5cm high? Also is a 60:30:10 fuel too hot if made with willow and milled for 1 hour?? Thanks
dangerousamateur Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) 7-8g too much and will it cato if the plug is 1,5cm high?Sounds good. In my coreburners i use 0,75 x diameter long nozzles. Also is a 60:30:10 fuel too hot if made with willow and milled for 1 hour??Maybe. Just try. Normally coreburners use unmilled BP Edited May 2, 2013 by dangerousamateur
nater Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I don't weigh increments: the nozzle gets a heaping teaspoon, which pressed on my tooling makes a nozzle 3/4" tall. (about 2 cm) I just weighed my increment of nozzle mix, and it is 9g. I use a mixture of hawthorn bond fireclay, graphite, and wax, so your results will be different.
nater Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I use the spindle removal collar that is sold as an option with the firesmith tools. It works great.
VikingPyrotechnics Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I mill 60-30-10 as finely as possible. So I've never had a CATO.Even if I do top fused the motors.I always use 5 g of bentonite. It is not too little but not too much. I find the idea of california pyro not bad with these discs youdone under the spindle to get the spindle out again. VP
