The simple fact is that you don't need to know ANYTHING to get a 54. All you need is a 100 bucks and not be a felon. Dave is selling these DVDs and they are totally useless. If you're interested in acquiring an ATF license, make a phone call to your local field agent's office. He/She will gladly answer any/all of your questions, send you the paperwork and probably give you an orange book too.

I have found it is always better to go "straight to the source" so to speak. Not to dump on Dave, I have learned a lot from his vids.

Re-sellers of common knowledge freely available from local, state, and federal authorities have have always thrown red flags for me.

For example, hunting laws. I had a neighbor who found a dead deer on his property, had a proper hunting license, but did not know how to deal with that issue, as he did not shoot the deer. Did the right thing, called the proper authorities, and they came out and told him what he could do, were very nice and informed as what to do if the situation ever happened again. I got involved with them as a bystander, and asked them some questions about wildlife on my property. We all had a good time together, got to know each other, and if he ever knocks on my door may remember me as a member of the community trying to do the right thing.

If I ever decide to get an ATF of what ever class, I would just make it a point to go in person and develop a relationship with my local officers. They will tell you what needs to be done, and if ever there is a problem, you have a history and maybe a face they remember as a person who did their best to abide by the laws of the land.
