DubaiAmateurRocketry Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 I have just purchased near 4 liters of Good quality Bitumen, and I will try it in 3 days cus right now im in a metropolitan and even thea balcony have smoke detectors so i don't wana try any. So any ideas how it burns ? Does it produce black smoke ? Im using KNO3 as oxidizer.
boule Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Well, bitumen is not really a great fuel for fireworks rockets. It's a mess to work with and requires KP or AP as a fuel, not KNO3. Additionally, you need a good confinement to get any amount of lift out of it.
taiwanluthiers Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 most of the coals used as fuel is designed to burn rather slowly... otherwise they would burn too fast to heat things.
