mikeee Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 The TLUD cooking method works best when you have uniform sized pieces of wood to cook.A mixture of different sized pieces will end up with a mixture of ash/charcoal/under-cooked charcoal.
pyrojig Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Awesome , thanks for the input. I too realized that the consistency/size of the materials does help in getting more bang for the buck, and more predictable burntimes . Do you have a pic Lloyd of your setup by chance? It sounds really nice.
lloyd Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I have a couple of pix before I added the adjustable dampers top&bottom. During testing, I just used tape over the bottom intake to evaluate if 'tuning' that flow would help at all. It did, so I added a damper valve later. I think I once uploaded them to pyrobin.
