Mardec Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6229512773940934022 I am very sure this is a fake, but just to be sure I would like to put it here. To hear your opinions. Sorry that I had to start a new tread for this.. I don't think Mumbles is going to like this one.
shadopyro Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 LOL! as if! What do you think might be the 2 componaents though?- unbelivable.
Mumbles Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 Theres a discussion over at MSDB about a "red paste primary". This might be the same stuff. Anyway, I don't think is actually vaporized. You never see any dispersed liquid or pieces of watermelon, just smoke. That watermellon was really small anyway. It looks more like it just fell off the side. No matter how powerful it is, a little piece like that couldn't vaporize shit. I don't care if it's the most powerful explosive in the world.
pa_pyro Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 LOL! I also saw this while lurking around at scimad. you should see te guys other videos. Just an idiot dressed in camo trying to scare uneducated(non pyro ) people. I'll get the scimad links posted here. http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=7053 You will also get a laugh out of this video.http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=7058
Chemguy Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Wow, I didn't know flour and red food colouring could blow stuff up! . It is a fake obviously, there is hardly an explosion and what you can see is some sparks to the right of it. Also I could see some wires going up the right aswell. It is a fake. The above video LOL!!! It is deniable and a fake, how stupid, a gas at 100 degrees that is more dense than an apple!
FrankRizzo Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Guaranteed Metacafe and Google will be subpoenaed for the poster's IP address and this asshole will get a visit from the DHS. If I owned an airline, I might even sue the stupid fuck.
Dr. Hextromeister Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 LOL! I also saw this while lurking around at scimad. you should see te guys other videos. I found that pretty funny. And to think authenticity of this video is being discussed on a scientific board? ........ How about the broccoli trick? Add 5g of iron oxide to a vinigar solution, mix in 3 table spoons of backing soda, bring to the boil, add a sliced broccoli and there you go - Instant cold fusion.
RUUUUUN Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 If that was true, why would the apple drop while the liquid is still heated? It would float over to one side most likely and drop, but since no gas can be heavier than a solid, it is obviously movie magic. Why did they make the apple spin? Cold fusion from broccoli...., and to think, I thought broccoli was Totally useless.
Rooster Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 I don't believe the explosion video at all, but it made me think. What would about 50milligrams of azo-clathrate primary do to a watermelon? Never made it, but I was under the impression that it was a quite badass primary. However with such high det. velocity, the melon would not be pushed, rather made a hole in/vaporized if you used enough explosive(more than in the vid).
