Jst4LOLz Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Ok, so I didn't really know where else to put this. So, I recently came across this guy: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com.au/seller?cmd=SELLER&sellerId=rareitems&itemId=261159282130 Can anyone help me verify the legitimacy of this seller, has anyone had dealings with him in the past perhaps. He has a few items of interest.Seems legit, but these days, a just never know...
TheSidewinder Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 That link won't resolve on a traditional browser, FYI. Just ends up on the main page of http://www.ebay.com.au/ Though..... it might be because I'm in the USA?
Mumbles Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I was having trouble too, even after I cut out the mobile part of the URL. The below worked for me after I searched for the item number though. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261159282130;jsessionid=04F5581A851568A9F3552B85BE531AD8?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D261159282130%26_rdc%3D1 1
Jst4LOLz Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 Sorry, only have my mobile at the mo'The sellers name is rareitems.
kilnj69 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 That's auschem's Ebay site. I spend more money than I should on www.auschems.com.au. 1
Jst4LOLz Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Kilnj69, That link's broken, Do you have another?
ausfire Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 This one works for me: http://www.auschems.com/catalog/
leedrill Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 i have bought through rare items before great seller and have dealt with pay pal invoices outside of ebay 10/10
leedrill Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 can anyone tell me what auschems is like to deal with
mike_au Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I bought something (don't remember what) off them a while back. No complaints, it was all fairly standard.
Anarchy08 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 you said that you bought through rare items on ebay, you do realize that auschems= rare items (ebay) yeah? Auschems is pretty well set up, had some issues with the paypal links though now resolved. good seller reasonable prices and now that diverse hobbies has shut down Aussies now have a dominant source of pyro chems. Now that our winter is coming many Aussies are starting up the ball mills, any decent pyro projects going?
leedrill Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 i did not realise thanks for that and i did not know that diverse had shut down i think it was not long ago i was looking at their site and now it is off line sad anyone know why they shut down
Anarchy08 Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 yeah, basically due to work commitments clashing with filling our orders, during the busy pyro seasons it was like working 2 fulltime jobs from what I hear.Aussies can still get everything they need to do pyro, just takes some searching and socialising
austar Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Hi guys, this is my first post here.I am having issues with auschem. I had made an order and their site said that it was sent, with a tracking number supplied. But it seems that the tracking number was incorrect and auschem isnt responding to ang emails that i have sent them. Has anybody else had this issue or have advice for for????
austar Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 Another question here guys. Can anybody share compositions with chemicals that are readily available in australia eg barium chloride instead of barium chlorate??
carbonhalo Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) I've only ordered from auschems once, but didn't have any problems. Only 2 days to go until my birthday bonfire/rocketfest.....so much yet to do Edited August 31, 2016 by carbonhalo
greenlight Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 (edited) Hi guys, this is my first post here.I am having issues with auschem. I had made an order and their site said that it was sent, with a tracking number supplied. But it seems that the tracking number was incorrect and auschem isnt responding to ang emails that i have sent them. Has anybody else had this issue or have advice for for????Hi, this is my first post here too...After getting sick of hours of evaporating solutions of Ba(No3)2 and Sr(No3)2 from pottery grade carbonates, I ordered 500g of each from the auschems website. It has been 2.5 months and he has only just sent them a few days ago as my order didn't even go through on his side. It takes him days to reply to messages and luckily I took screenshots of the order summary and paypal invoice because he thought I was a scammer and probably would not have sent them without it. I still waiting to see if they arrive.Hopefully auschems has fixed these problems now.Did you receive your chems austar? And as for your other question, the hygroscopicity of barium chloride would not make it very attractive for use in compositions. Barium nitrate would be your best bet for greens I think. Datsun Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Also my first post here, well kind of. New account. I've made several purchases from Auschems and received them all within 1-4 weeks, he might just have a backlog of orders. Have you since received your items? As I cannot start a new thread, on a side note. What happened to the True Blue Pyro and Pyro Life Forums? I understand True Blue himself might still be around on these forums, as well as anarchy, bismuth and leedrill. The reason I ask is I'm wondering if we still have a dedicated Australian forum for amateur pyrotechnics? Regards, Datsun.
OldMarine Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 Datsun, you made your first post so now you are able to post! My only ? is why you chose the handle "Datsun"?
Mumbles Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 My understanding is that TrueBluePyro has gotten out of pyro or lost interest and has not maintained his website. I occasonally see Leedrill logged in, but he hasn't posted here in quite a while, and I haven't really heard much from him. Anarchy08 has not logged in in several years either. I'm not sure if either are still active in the hobby. If not, it is a shame. They were very good builders and seemed actively involved in a budding Australian group of pyros.
greenlight Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Received my stuff in the end no problem except it took a while..The delay was from the site paypal stuffing up.
