BJV Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Question: Can cannon BP be used in place of 2fg for lift??BJV
flying fish Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 It is slower, so you will need more of it and/or a tighter fitting shell. However, in exchange you will get a gentler lift which is a good thing! I use 2FA for 3" and larger shells, which is close to cannon in terms of grain size. http://home.comcast.net/~illinewek/faqs/bptypes.htm
dynomike1 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Sure why not., but i would check the price of cannon grade and shipping first. Far as cannon grade i was using 1oz. per 3" and 2oz. per 4". Pyrodex and 777 not recommended.
butch Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Does anyone know weather Schuetzen reenactor powder is suitable for lift powder and where does it fall between on the scale.
dynomike1 Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I like it. i STARTED MAKING MY OWN AND ON A 3" SHELL I HAD TO GO FROM .75OZ. TO 1OZ..
Peret Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Reenactor powder is slower than modern Goex because it's made to perform to the standards of the 17th and 18th century powders. Slower, costs more, go figure.
