BP Nozzless Rocket to Report

Recommended Posts

Yeah, brainfart. Forgot the clay, so the nozzle wound up being clay. Still managed to get about 50' off the ground before it ran out of delay. This mix is 5%Ferro-Ti in a 75/15/10 meal. Enjoy!

Wow, that was a LOUD report, what was it? Didn't go very high though, but at least you could here the report well. Ok, I know you are using BP this time ;). What type of charcoal do you use.

Hahaha, I used airfloat in my meal powder, but I'm gonna mix it up with 80 mesh next time so I can get some tail going. The report was loud for two reasons, it's my new GOOD flash, and it only got about 50' off the ground.

Man the report being so loud 50 feet in the air shows how high his other rockets go. From 50 feet there is a huge boom, but from how far his other rockets go it sounds like a big pop. Nice rockets!

Really, a very good performance! You try it again?

I'll be sending up at least one more two stage this weekend and probably a couple of others. I'm gonna make my next two stage rocket with the first stage whistle and the second stage BP, should keep the height down a bit.

haahaa! Nice! I bet that had the '' :o '' effect!

I like the tail, what charcoal was it?

Read the third post.

I was meaning the actual type of charcoal - it looked very similar to the pine tails I've been getting.

It's commercial airfloat, mixed hardwood. Oak and maple primarily I would suspect.

Indeed Mumbles is correct, I think. The bag just said airfloat, but all the other charcoal I have bought has been hardwood. I would love to get some softwood charcoal in the mix.
