JFeve81 Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I've ran across a comp. posted by a person by the name of Sambo back in 2009. It was a thread dealing with nitrate based strobes. Sambo posted the formulas I've linked. Each formula totalled 104-105. I've seen several other formulas that total over 100% and were told they were correct. So would the ones like Sambo posted be in parts or percent? I'm thinking of trying #3 with a few modifications but want to make sure I'm starting with the correct formula to begin with. http://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/topic/3886-red-nitrate-strobes/#entry53774
californiapyro Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I personally don't get the confusion with parts/percent/whatever. Formulas don't need to add up to 100, but if you want them to just multiply each ingredient by 100/X, X being the total. Does this answer something, or am I way off?
Mumbles Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I have those same formulas. I got them from a posting by Lloyd Sponnenburgh, but he got them from somewhere on the internet allegedly. The proportions are correct as far as what he said. He also confirms that they work acceptably for nitrate strobes.
