Oinikis Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 could you tell me what CATO is? i'm newbie here. it is some sort of explosion, or plug shooting out?
dan999ification Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 (edited) oh, what ratio did you choose for the test 50/50 ? and was this on one pound tooling?Surely 90/10 will go up . Cato means: catastrophe at take off, to the hpr guys, or your rocket blows up to us dan. Edited December 14, 2012 by dan999ification
AirCowPeacock Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 I was using 70:30 SF:BP. Of course I was using a nonstandard mixture for SF, one involving sulfur and 1% RIO catalyst (for total mix, as in the 70:30 fuel was 1% RIO, not just the SF.) And yeah, 1 lb. tooling, except for a 6" tube instead of a 7.5". I doubt the grain was malformed or had cracks, and I doubt it was l not consolidated enough. Density was about 89-94% of theoretical, which is pretty good in my mind.
