cplmac Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 The video will be posted tomorrow. http://images.kodakgallery.com/photos2803/5/17/76/73/54/0/54737617511_0_ALB.jpg
ewest Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 What happened to the picture? It doesn't show for me. And don't tease us like this, I saw the heading and expected a video in there, but all I get is "I'll post it tomorrow" that's just mean.......the suspense is killing me.
cplmac Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Yeah sorry about that, got killed at work today and didn't have time to fire it off. I'm really hoping to get it done before the weekend is over. Here is the url for the picture, hopefully it works. http://images.kodakgallery.com/photos2803/...17511_0_ALB.jpg
rocket Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 The link didn’t work for me, got a 403 Forbidden. I think you have to give access for people to view your pics on Kodak gallery or something like that, someone else had the same problem with the forbidden msg. You could use photo bucket.
itwasntme Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 No offence man, but wait until you shoot it off to post a thread on it. It's just not fair
Mumbles Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Just FYI guys, copying and pasting the link works just fine. There is probably some hotlink protection that is causing problems with the posting and clicking on the link.
rocket Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Still wont work for me I get a msg saying “The page you're looking for is not available.” When I copy and past the link.
Chemguy Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 This is the error The page you're looking for is not available. But dont' let that stop you. You can use your browser's back button to return to the page you were on, or use the navigation bar above. If you are having problems using the ofoto site, please browse through our help section. This happens if I C/P the link. Clicking on it gives 403 forbidden. If I were you I would use imageshack or upload temple. btw, can't wait to see your rocket
Mumbles Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Guys, didn't you notice the series of periods in the URL when you pasted it? I guess I always just click copy link location when I do it. Try that. Right click, go to properties, and then copy the whole thing if you have to.
rocket Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Ah right I got it to work now. I didn’t notice the periods in the ULR, I just highlighted the link then pasted it that’s why it didn’t work. Thanks Mumbles
Chemguy Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Same as me^^. It's a nice rocket. When will it be done?? btw, why make the thread a day early, is it to build up a prefire party, to make it popular? well know the pressure is on you, it better be good .
cplmac Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Good news and bad news. I fired it off after work today, but the delay was to short on the first motor. You can actually see the first motor passfire about ten feet off the ground. Other than that it was a success. And now I know what to do for two stager 2.0. If this video is not showing, it should be available by 10PM central. Takes youtube an hour or so to approve videos.Sorry about the pathetic build up.
Cherbanov Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 The video you have requested is not available. I dont think the video works =(
TheSidewinder Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Worked for me. Right-click and "Open in New Window" with it. Anyway, nice rocket. Yeah, stage 2 fired a little quick, but the rocket WORKED. That's most important. Nice header, too. M
ewest Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 What are you talking about "Pathetic build up?" I know it didn't work exactly like you wanted, but first time things rarely do. Still a nice rocket I think. Heck of a header LOL.
Chemguy Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Wow, that was cool. It went a long way up, and the report was big. Did you feel a sort of shockwave? I know from some big fireworks I've seen the shockwaves are awesome.
Mumbles Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 You don't feel the shockwave from that far away with rockets.
cplmac Posted November 14, 2006 Author Posted November 14, 2006 Thanks everyone. Take two will be up tonight. It worked much better, but the height was enough to make a much larger report almost inaudible. And the video and audio are not as good.
h&k machineguns Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Thanks everyone. Take two will be up tonight. It worked much better, but the height was enough to make a much larger report almost inaudible. And the video and audio are not as good. Please explain how you made the 2 stage rocket. I've been asking over at passfire for a while now about 2-3 stage whistle rockets ,with no luck on anyone explaining how too. Thanks
cplmac Posted November 16, 2006 Author Posted November 16, 2006 It's pretty easy, just press the first stage with a smaller than normal delay, and press the second stage as a normal rocket. take a small tube whose OD matches your motors ID and glue it to the inside of the top of your first stage, then slide it into the bottom of your second stage. Glue and tape your second stage to the stick very securely, make sure the first stage is aligned straight on the stick and pressed up against the bottom of your second stage firmly and attach it to the stick with one wrap of masking tape. You need this motor to easily eject off the stick when the second fires so don't secure it very well, just make sure it is basically held in position under the second stage so when it fires it carries the rocket up instead of coming off and going wherever it wants.
